Berea Police Report May 17, 2018

ARRESTED

Shoplifting Arrest: On 05/12/2018 Walmart employees observed two subjects in the store who removed merchandise from the packaging, then concealed it in a bag.

Officers arrested 26-year-old Lori Grimes of Tyner KY and 33-year-old Donnie Coffey of Tyner KY. They were both charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking Shoplifting.

ARRESTED

Alcohol Intoxication: On 05/08/2018 officers were called to Chestnut Street in reference to a male subject walking in the roadway. The subject had a strong odor of alcohol and showed several other signs of intoxication.

Officers arrested 49-year-old Gary Brock of Berea KY and charged him with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place.

ARRESTED

Alcohol Intoxication: On 05/11/2018 officers were called to the Berea Cemetery in reference to a dispute. One of the parties involved had a strong odor of alcohol and showed other signs of intoxication.

Officers arrested 31-year old David Northern of Berea KY and charged him with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place.

ARRESTED

Criminal Trespassing: On 05/11/2018 officers were called to the area of Herndon Street in reference to a suspicious person. As they arrived, a second caller reported that someone was inside of her parked vehicle on Prospect Street. A male subject was located inside of the caller’s vehicle, and was attempting to take items from inside.

Officers arrested 34-year-old Steve Napier of Berea KY and charged him with Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree and Theft by Unlawful Taking Under $500.

ARRESTED

Public Intoxication: On 05/11/2018 officers were called to East Haiti Road in reference to a female acting suspicious and pushing a baby stroller. She advised them that she was taking care of a baby in the stroller, but there was no one inside of it.

Officers arrested 51-year-old Connie Cope of Berea KY and charged her with Public Intoxication.

ARRESTED

Sexual Abuse: On 05/11/2018 Investigators arrested 68-year-old James Day of Berea KY and charged him with Sexual Abuse 1st Degree Victim U/12 Years of Age.

An investigation revealed that he had inappropriate sexual contact with a family member who was a minor.

ARRESTED

DUI Arrest: On 05/12/2018 a vehicle was observed swerving in the roadway on Richmond Road, and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver of the vehicle had a had a strong odor of alcohol and showed several other signs of intoxication.

Officers arrested 29-year-old Donald Taulbee of Berea KY and charged him with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense.

ARRESTED

EOP/DVO Violation: On 05/14/2018 officers were called to the 2000 block of Brooklyn Blvd in reference to a protection order violation. They located a subject at the home who had been court-ordered to stay away from the resident. As he was being placed under arrest, the subject attempted to pull away from the officers several times.

Officers charged 36-year-old Zachary Miller of Berea KY with Violation of a KY EPO/DVO and Resisting Arrest.
