Beshear: Nicholasville Man Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison for 2008 Homicide Cold Case

Attorney General Andy Beshear announced that a 37-year-old Jessamine County man received a 20-year sentence today by a Jessamine Circuit Court Judge involving a 2008 homicide cold case.

David Peel, of Nicholasville, was sentenced today in Jessamine Circuit Court in connection with the death of Mark Dunn, 45, in May 2008. Beshear’s Special Prosecutions Unit secured the guilty plea on March 13, 2018.

The charges against Peel included second-degree manslaughter; tampering with physical evidence; bail jumping; second-degree escape; tampering with a prison monitoring device and trafficking in heroin.

  1. I Wasn’t allowed to direct impact statement towards him today. Only to court and judge…Felt unjustified by that.
    MY wish is he spends every day of that 20 years in prision. I hope he grieves as bad as I have in that time.
