Beshear: Nicholasville Man Pleads Guilty in 2008 Homicide Cold Case

Attorney General Andy Beshear and his Special Prosecutions Unit have secured a guilty plea in a 2008 homicide cold case involving the shooting death of a 45-year-old Jessamine County man.

David Peel, 37, Nicholasville, entered a guilty plea today in Jessamine Circuit Court in connection with the death of Mark Dunn in May 2008.

The charges against Peel include second-degree manslaughter; tampering with physical evidence; bail jumping; second-degree escape; tampering with a prison monitoring device and trafficking in heroin.

Beshear’s office is recommending a 20-year sentence. Sentencing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on April 9.
