Berea Police Report Mar. 27, 2018

ARRESTED

Shoplifting Arrests: On 03/21/2018 officers were called to Walmart in reference to two shoplifters. Store employees observed the two subjects attempting to leave the store with merchandise that they did not pay for.

Officers arrested 30 year old Malana Wilson of Brodhead KY and 27 year old Amanda Carrier of Brodhead KY. They were both charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking Shoplifting.

ARRESTED

Burglary Arrest: On 03/21/2018 Investigators charged 52 year old John Stamper of Berea KY with Burglary 1st Degree, Burglary 2nd Degree, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Stamper was charged as the result of an investigation into two different burglaries, one in which a firearm was stolen.

ARRESTED

Shoplifting Arrest: On 03/19/2018 officers were called to Walmart in reference to a shoplifter who fled the area. Store employees observed the subject concealing merchandise before leaving the store on foot. The subject was located at McDonald’s and placed under arrest.

Officers charged 30 year old Whitley Smith of London KY with Theft by Unlawful Taking Shoplifting.

ARRESTED

Alcohol/Assault Arrest: On 03/18/2018 officers were called to a residence on Baldwin Street in reference to a disturbance. They located a male and an intoxicated female standing in the driveway outside of the home. While they were speaking to the male, the female became upset and struck the male subject in the face.

Officers arrested 21 year old Willa Daniel of Berea KY and charged her with Assault 4th Degree and Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place.

ARRESTED

Drug Arrest: On 03/18/2018 officers observed two suspicious people in the area of South Broadway Street. Contact was made, and both of the subjects had active arrest warrants. One of the subjects had a plastic bottle in his jacket pocket that contained suspected methamphetamine and 1 Hydrocodone tablet.

Officers charged 24 year old Timothy Vanwinkle of Berea KY with two counts of Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree.

ARRESTED

Drug Arrest: On 03/18/2018 officers were called to Circle K on Richmond Road in reference to a male subject passed out in a vehicle. When they approached the vehicle, they observed two syringes and a metal containing sitting on the subject’s lap. Inside of the metal container was an unknown substance, possibly methamphetamine.

Officers arrested 35 year old Kevin Spivey of Berea KY and charged him with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree.

ARRESTED

EPO/DVO Violation: On 03/18/2018 officers were called to a residence on Railroad Street in reference to a protection order violation.

They located 54 year old Danny Conner of Berea KY, who was found to be in violation of the protection order. Conner was arrested and charged with Violation of a KY EPO/DVO.

ARRESTED

Fleeing or Evading: On 03/17/2018 officers were called to Scaffold Cane Road in reference to a stolen cell phone that had been tracked to the area. They spotted a male subject who began running when he saw the officers, but was apprehended after a short foot chase. The subject also had an active warrant for his arrest.

Officers charged 46 year old Wendell Parker of Berea KY with Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree.

ARRESTED

Public Intoxication: On 03/17/2018 officers were called to a residence on East Haiti Road in reference to a male subject passed out in the caller’s vehicle. They were able to wake the subject, who showed several signs of impairment.

Officers arrested 34 year old Steven Napier of Berea KY and charged him with Public Intoxication.

ARRESTED

Giving Officer False Name: On 03/14/2018 a traffic stop was conducted on Richmond Road for a minor traffic violation. The officer spoke with the driver, who was unable to show an operator’s license. After several minutes, the officer learned that the driver had given a false name.

Officers arrested 55 year old Gary Lamb of Berea KY and charged him with Giving an Officer False Identifying Information. He was also charged with several traffic related offenses.

ARRESTED

Shoplifting Arrest: On 03/14/2018 officers were called to McDonald’s on Glades Road in reference to a subject passed out in one of the restrooms. The subject was located in the parking lot and showed several signs of impairment.

Officers arrested 33 year old Christopher Adams of Nashville TN and charged him with Public Intoxication.
