Berea Police Report Feb. 28, 2018

ARRESTED

Disorderly Conduct: On 02/25/2018 officers were called to Shawn’s Flea Market in reference to a possible shoplifting complaint. They made contact with a female who began to act belligerent and cursed at the store employees.

Officers arrested 42-year-old Christina Cruz of Columbus OH and charged her with Disorderly Conduct.

ARRESTED

DUI Arrest: On 02/26/2018 officers were called to Richmond Road in reference to a non-injury collision. One of the drivers showed several signs of impairment and was placed under arrest.

Officers charged 20-year-old Jonathan Stamper of Berea KY with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense.

ARRESTED

Alcohol Intoxication: On 02/25/2018 officers were called to the Tobacco Shed in reference to an employee who appeared to be under the influence. They spoke to the employee, who showed several signs of intoxication. She made threats to the officer after she was arrested, and resisted being arrested.

Officers charged 51-year-old Tamara Johnson of Berea KY with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place, Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree, and Resisting Arrest.

ARRESTED

Receiving Stolen Property: On 02/23/2018 officers were contacted by the victim of a vehicle break-in, which had already been reported. The victim had located the stolen property for sale on Facebook Marketplace and made contact with the seller. The victim made arrangements to buy the property, and officers accompanied the victim to the transaction.

The seller was identified as 23-year-old Jeffery Tarter of Berea KY, and he had an active warrant for his arrest. Once officers made contact with him, he ran on foot and was apprehended after a short chase. The property was recovered and returned to the victim.

Tarter was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property U/$10,000, Resisting Arrest, and Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree.

ARRESTED

Drug Arrest: On 02/24/2018 an officer was conducting a business check at Circle K on Chestnut Street, and made contact with a male subject. The subject seemed disoriented and showed other signs of impairment. The subject was placed under arrest, and he was found to be in possession of a Suboxone tablet.

Officers charged 42-year-old Chad Parks of Manchester KY with Public Intoxication and Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd Degree.
