Berea Police Report Jan. 17, 2018


Burglary/Receiving Stolen Property: On 01/14/2018 officers were called to a residence on Short Line Pike in reference to a burglary. When they arrived, they located a female standing outside of the residence holding a pick hammer. The owner of the home stated that she had been inside without permission and had made threats to him. The homeowner also stated that two male subjects were with her, and they attempted to steal his side by side ATV. The ATV had been loaded on to a trailer that was being pulled by the truck that the subjects arrived in. The two subjects ran before officers arrived, but they were located a short distance away and taken into custody. The truck that they were driving was a stolen vehicle out of Richmond.

Officers arrested 32 year old Julie Rice of Berea KY, 36 year old Bradley Ashcraft of Richmond KY, and 39 year old Larry Dunaway of Richmond KY. Rive was charged with Burglary 2nd Degree and Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree. Ashcraft and Dunaway were charged with Receiving Stolen Property U/$10,000 and Theft by Unlawful Taking $500 or More. Ashcraft was also charged with Resisting Arrest.

ARRESTED

DUI Arrest: On 01/16/2018 a traffic stop was conducted on Richmond Road for a minor equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle had a strong odor of alcohol and showed several other signs of impairment.

Officers arrested 47 year old Laura Santoroski of Berea KY and charged her with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 3rd Offense.

ARRESTED

Shoplifting Arrest: On 01/13/2018 store employees at Walmart observed a subject switch price tags on several items and then try to purchase them for a lower price. He also concealed other merchandise and made no attempt to pay for it.

Officers arrested 31 year old McCoy Lainhart of McKee KY and charged him with Theft by Unlawful Taking Shoplifting.

ARRESTED

DUI Arrest: On 01/13/2018 officers were called to Oak Branch Drive in reference to a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was located parked on the street, and the driver appeared to be passed out behind the wheel. When she woke up, she showed several other signs of impairment, and was placed under arrest. Inside of her purse she had a small amount of marijuana inside of a pill bottle.

Officers charged 31 year old Tina Hoskins of Richmond KY with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense and Possession of Marijuana.

ARRESTED

EPO/DVO Violation: On 01/12/2018 Officers were called to the 100 block of Maple Street in reference to a disturbance. They located a female at the residence, and a male who attempted to leave through a back window when they arrived. They learned that there was an active protective order in place which prohibited contact between the two.

Officers arrested 46 year old James Edwards of Lexington KY and charged him with Violation of Kentucky EPO/DVO.

ARRESTED

DUI Arrest: On 01/12/2018 officers were called to the area of Glades Road and Highway 1016 in reference to a reckless driver. The vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted on Forest Street. The driver showed several signs of impairment, and was placed under arrest.

Officers charged 29 year old Raquiah Campbell of Berea KY with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense, along with several other traffic offenses.

ARRESTED

Shoplifting/Trespass Arrest: On 01/12/2018 officers were called to Walmart in reference to a shoplifter. The subject was located in the store with merchandise concealed in her pockets. She had more merchandise in her purse, along with several Clonazepam and Gabapentin tablets. She was in the store with a male subject, and store employees reported that they had both been banned from the property.

Officers arrested 34 year old Maranda Smith of Mount Vernon KY and 41 year old Eddie Gentry of Mount Vernon KY. They were both charged with Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree. Smith was also charged with the following:

-Theft by Unlawful Taking Shoplifting
-Public Intoxication
-Prescription Controlled Substance not in Proper Container
-Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree

ARRESTED

DUI Arrest: On 01/07/2018 a traffic stop was conducted on Richmond Road for a minor moving violation. The driver of the vehicle had an odor of alcohol, and showed several other signs of impairment. Inside of the vehicle he had an open alcohol container, marijuana, and a pipe.

Officers arrested 40 year old Jeremy Lewis of Berea KY and charged him with the following:

-Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 3rd Offense
-Possession of Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia Possession
-Possession of Open Alcohol Container in a Motor Vehicle

ARRESTED

Drug Arrest: On 01/06/2018 officers were called to Circle K on Richmond Road in reference to a subject passed out in a vehicle. The subject showed several signs of impairment, and threw a black plastic container under his vehicle while speaking to the officers. Inside of the container they located several plastic bags that contained suspected methamphetamine.

Officers arrested 51 year old Donald Means and charged him with the following:

-Public Intoxication
-Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree
-Drug Paraphernalia Possession
-Tampering with Physical Evidence

ARRESTED

Theft By Deception: On 01/02/2018 Investigators arrested 46 year old Alisa Young of Berea KY. An investigation revealed that she deposited several counterfeit money orders into her account, totaling over $1,900.00.

Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card: On 01/02/2018 Investigators arrested 38 year old David Leone of Richmond KY. An investigation revealed that he used a debit card to withdraw money that didn’t belong to him, totaling $2,600.00.

He was charged with two counts of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card and Theft By Deception $500<$10,000. [caption id="attachment_67779" align="alignleft" width="280"] ARRESTED[/caption]
DUI Arrest: On 12/30/2017 a traffic stop was conducted on Richmond Road for a minor moving violation. The driver of the vehicle had an odor of alcohol, and showed several other signs of intoxication.

Officers arrested 23 year old Andrew Selover of Berea KY and charged him with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense.


DUI Arrest: On 12/29/2017 officers were called to Oak Branch Drive in reference to a male subject passed out in a vehicle. The vehicle started to drive away as they arrived, and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver of the vehicle showed several signs of impairment and was placed under arrest.

Officers charged 40 year old Marvin Knuckles of Berea KY with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense.
