Elizabeth Goodrich Witt, 94, of Berea, Kentucky, passed away December 24, 2017 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. She was born on June 4, 1923 in Paint Lick, Kentucky, to the late Willie and Bernice Roberson Kindred.
Elizabeth was a 1942 graduate of Kingston High School and had also graduated from Fugazzi Business College in Lexington. She retired as Assistant Cashier of Berea National Bank in 1988 after 38 years of service and had been a lifelong member of the Silver Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by: her husbands, Bill Goodrich and Bill Witt; one sister, Darlene Bowman; one brother, Billy Kindred; one step-son, Bill Witt, Jr.; and one son-in-law, Preston Gadd.
Elizabeth is survived by: two daughters, Mary Ann (Ford) Hampton and Vicki (Ken Clark) Harris; six grandchildren: Libby Workman, Billy (Heather) Gadd, Amanda (Chuck) Leger, James (Shamekia) Hampton, Nikki Hampton, and Cara (Dustin) Busler; 10 great grandchildren: Kaitlyn (Travis) Haley, Kyle Gadd, Hailee Gadd, Andrew Gadd, Liam Leger, Conner Hampton, Abigail Hampton, Kullen Hampton, Drake Mundy, and Emory Busler; two great-great grandchildren: Talon Haley and Cheyenne Haley; four nieces: Lori Miracle, Sue Kindred, Heidi Regan, and Cheryl Chasteen; one sister-in-law, Ruth Colville; ten step-children; numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, other family, and friends.
Funeral services for Elizabeth Witt will be held at Silver Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Rick Fulton and Rev. Kenny Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Berea Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening, December 29, 2017 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Silver Creek Baptist Church.

Marie C. Frascatore
Marie C. Frascatore age 64, died Wednesday December 27, 2017 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville KY. Marie was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Frederick Sr., and Rita Pastore Frascatore.
Marie was retired from MEPCO Home Health Agency of Madison County KY.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Rita Ann Frascatore.
Marie is survived by her children; Katrina Marie (Randy) Lamb, Marie Antoinette (Jason) Auerbach Sr., and Jeannette Marie Hall. Grandchildren Kasey Lamb, Jamie Auerbach, Corey Lamb, Jason Auerbach Jr., and great-grandchildren Logan Davenport, Mason Davenport, Chloe Lamb, and Zoey Lamb, her siblings Frederick Frascatore Jr., Carol Ann Stankovich, Charles Frascatore, several beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Jan. 2, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Lakes Funeral Home Berea, visitation will be Monday Jan. 1, 2018 from 6-9 pm at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place on Thursday Jan. 4, 2018 at the Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Joseph Lee Abney
Joseph Lee Abney, 101, of Disputanta, passed away December 24, 2017 at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. Joe was born on April 3, 1916 in the Brush Creek community of Rockcastle County to the late John Mitchell and Anna Mae Robinson Abney.
He was a lifelong farmer and a self-employed construction worker. In his later years, he spent many hours on his front porch with his dogs waving at people who passed and enjoying the scenery of the Clear Creek community.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Linville Abney; four brothers: Richard “Dick” Abney, Ralph Abney, Hubert Abney, and Howard Abney; one sister, Geneva Jones; one grandson, Scott Henderson; and one great-granddaughter, Keisha Nicole Thomas.
Joe is survived by: two daughters, Betty A. (David) Henderson and Joyce L. Ballard; four grandchildren: Stacy Henderson Gentry, Jerry Lee Thomas, Rita Jo Thomas Lamb, and Kirk Thomas; eight great grandchildren: Kortney Thomas, Joe Thomas, Arlee Thomas, Jesseca Thomas, Neal Henderson, Landon Gentry, Lucas Gentry, and Levi Gentry; one sister, Edna Cate; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Funeral services for Joseph Lee Abney will be held at Lakes Funeral Home Berea on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Bro. Chris Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis-Witt Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 6:00 until 9:00 at the funeral home.

Linda June Anderson
Linda June (Rider) Anderson, 68, wife of the late Mark Henry Anderson, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY. Born February 14, 1949 in Kansas City, KS, she was the daughter of the late Charles Richard and Geraldine Lucille (Pappe) Rider.
Linda graduated from Argentine High School in 1967. She and Mark married on April 4, 1975 at Chapel of the Veterans in Leavenworth, KS. Linda was a devoted wife and mother to their two children, Keith and Brooke. She believed in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and had a special fondness for Pastors Mark Sarver and Kenneth Felty, both of Berea, KY. For several years, she used her secretarial skills in the greater Kansas City area until she moved to Berea, KY in 2001. She enjoyed gatherings with family and close friends. In her later years – her special joys – the addition of her grandchildren.
She is survived by son Keith Marlin Anderson (Kasandra Wright) of Kansas City, KS and Brooke Danesse (Anderson) King and her husband Johnny (Greg) of Berea, KY; 5 grandchildren: Ryan, Trinity, Kara’Lin, Anderson, and Ethan; two brothers, Dale G. Rider (Twila) of Independence, MO, and Bruce L. Rider (Joy) of Olathe, KS; 3 nieces and 1 nephew, and lifelong friend Carolyn Moffitt (Doug) of Overland Park, KS.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Larry Keith Rider.
A celebration of life will be held in Berea and at a later time to be determined, a celebration of life will also be in the Kansas City area.

Jewell Davis Isaacs, 90, of Richmond, went to her Heavenly Home on December 29, 2017. Born December 23, 1927, in Estill County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late John Evans and Ollie Bach Davis.
Mrs. Isaacs was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Richmond. She was a proud member of the Garden Club and enjoyed her affiliation with the Pattie A. Clay Auxiliary Charity Ball. Mrs. Isaacs was an avid supporter of Hopes Wings Women’s Shelter, and the Hospice Compassionate Care Center to which she donated the property.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dr. William “W.R.” Isaacs and Carl Dollins, and her daughter, Marilyn R. Isaacs. Mrs. Isaacs is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Per her request, private services will be held at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with burial in the Richmond Cemetery.

Allen L. Hopper
Allen L. Hopper, 72, formerly of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at his home in Florence, Ky. Born December 18, 1945, in Lexington, Kentucky, he was the son of Stanley Elmer and Virginia Mae Florian Hopper, both of whom preceded him in death.
Allen was a retired employee of Lexmark, and a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, as well as a member of Kirksville Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Stanley Matthew Hopper; two brothers Stanley Eugene Hopper; and Marshall Todd Hopper, four sisters Linda Carol Adkins; Patricia Ann Lane; Frances Marie Taylor and Goldie Mae Hopper.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives Stella Collins Hopper and Shirley Sue Richardson Hopper, as well as a daughter Susan Yvonne Holcum and one brother Doug Hopper.
Funeral services for Allen will be 1:00 P.M. Monday January 1, 2018 at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Himes officiating. Burial will follow in the Turpin Cemetery in Winston, KY. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. Monday January 1, 2018 at the Funeral Home.

Sudie Hensley, 79, of Richmond, passed away Monday, December 25, 2017, at her home. Born April 26, 1938, at Manchester, Kentucky, in Clay County, to John and Creasie Smith Brumley, both of whom preceded her in death, and was the widow of Henry Owen Hensley.
She was a homemaker and a home caregiver and a member of the Church of God. Sudie loved children and was known to many, simply as “Granny”, especially the ones that she helped raise.
Survivors include three daughters, Loretta Clines (Johnny), Janet Sue Clines (Clay), and Tonya Hensley (Phillip), all of Richmond; three sons, John Douglas Hensley, Luther Wayne Hensley, and Ronald Hensley (Cheryl), all of Richmond; three step-sons, Donnie Hensley (Marcia), Buddy Hensley (Donna), both of Lancaster, and Bobby Hensley of Paint Lick.
She also leaves two sisters, Onise Edwards and Lorene Shephard (Bruce); five brothers, Arnold, Burchell, Arcus, John C., and Luther Brumley; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and a special friend, Kim Morrow.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Brumley; one sister, Mildred Jones; three brothers, Jarvis, Gene, and Wintford Brumley.
Funeral services for Sudie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Walter Brumley and Bro. George Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Thursday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.

Dewey Lee Adkins
Dewey Lee Adkins, 76, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017 at his home. He was the husband of Rosalie Keathley Adkins. Dewey was born on March 6, 1941 in Ivel, Kentucky, and was the son of Everett Dewey and Stella Marie Layne Adkins, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was a retired electrical engineer.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Dewey Lee Adkins, Jr. (Brandy), of Richmond; four daughters, Alisa Adkins, Teresa Baisden, Suzanne Adkins, and Martha Gabbard, all of Richmond; three brothers, David Adkins, Dorain Adkins, and Donald Adkins, all of Richmond; three sisters, Peggy Branham, of West Virginia, Verlie Pierce, of Florida, and Ellen Adkins, of Ashland, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren; 21 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home in trusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Mayme Louise Foland, 67, of Richmond, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Baptist Health Hospital – Richmond. She was born in Richmond Kentucky on November 29, 1950 to the late Harry and Jessie Morris Robinson.
She was a member of the class of 1969 of Madison High School and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Mayme was a member of the Christian Faith. She worked for the Richmond Register in the Classified Sales Department and retired in 2013 after 28 years of dedicated and faithful service. During her time at the Register, she advocated local pet adoption and started a monthly Pet Page to highlight pets that needed a new home. She loved all pets, especially cats, and never turned away a stray. Her hobbies included yard-sales, making jewelry and making homemade candy for which she was known around the community as the “Candy Lady”.
Survivors include: her husband of 37 years, John Foland; one son, Jonathan Foland (Hagen Stinson); one daughter, Amy Huffman-Dabney; one adopted daughter, Chastity “Chas” Harney-Brewer; three grandchildren, Zachary Dabney, Madeline Grace Brewer and Jack Yeiser; one brother-in-law, Larry Foland; one sister-in-law, Karla Foland; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Emma Jean Robinson Hisle (Paul Franklin Hisle)
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Monday, January 1, 2018, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, with Bro. Elder Goble officiating. Visitation will be after 5:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Garry Spivey, 61, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at U K Chandler Medical Center. Mr. Spivey, the son of the late Charles Spivey and Melva Williams Spivey, was born in Dayton, Ohio on February 19, 1956.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl McSorley Spivey and two sons: Charley Spivey and D.J. Spivey.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Richmond Cemetery. Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth Roe Bucher, 96, the widow of Alvin Velmer Bucher, passed away Tuesday evening, December 26, 2017, at The Terrace in Berea. Mrs. Bucher was born on April 18, 1921, in Madison County, the daughter of the late Eligah and Ethel Winkler Roe.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was a member of The Stoney Run Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter: Betty Rison (Tim); four grandchildren: Steven Douglas Bucher, Shannon David Bucher (Christina), Stacy Dawn Bucher and Heather Rae Bowlin; six great-grandchildren: Jacob Bucher, Ethan Bucher, Rhianna Bowlin, Kannon Davis, Sophia Davis and Adelyn Davis; one sister: Hazel Combs; her daughter-in-law: Juanita Bucher and a sister-in-law: Helen Roe as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son: Alvin Douglas Bucher; two sisters: Mary Belle Snapp and Evelyn Scott and five brothers: Ernest, Farris, Willie, Frank and Eligha Roe Jr.

Lillian Jones, 63, widow of Roger Dale Jones, passed away December 28th, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. She was a native of Detroit MI, a daughter of the late William and Jewlette Black Castle.
She was a former employee of the Galls Company, a member of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. Lillian enjoyed reading and loved being near the ocean. She was preceded in death by her brothers Clifford and Arnold Castle.
Survivors include her brothers Curtis Castle, David (Lisa) Castle; her sisters Martha (Tifford) Bowling, Wilma Abner, Paulette (Rocky) Whitehead, Rosie (Ray) Jones; her brothers-in-law Donald (Dana) Jones, and Steve (Sissy) Jones; many nieces and nephews.

Alma Brown Lynch, 78, husband of Charles Nathan Lynch, passed away December 23rd 2017 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Survivors other than her husband Charles, include her children Steve (Diane) Lynch, Bonnie (Ronald) Lawson, Janice Lynch Barnett, Patricia Lynch Jackson, Pauline Lynch (Kenneth) McKinney, Charlene Lynch Bacic, Kimberly Lynch (David) Lay, Karen Lynch (Timothy) Saylor, Nathan Lynch, Jeff (Nina) Lynch; thirty grandchildren; and forty-two great-grandchildren.

Darrell Eugene Bell
Mr. Darrell Eugene Bell, 55 of Louisville, died Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Audubon Hospital. He was born in Berea, KY on September 3, 1962 the son of Hubert and Jalette Price Bell.
He had been a driver for UPS for the past 33 years and was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Church of Christ. He was a graduate of Rockcastle County High School and was an avid UK fan.
He is survived by three brothers, Floyd Bell, Larry Bell and wife Phyllis, and Bobby Bell and wife Sherrie, all of Mt. Vernon; three sisters, Patricia Davidson and husband Bobby of Sand Gap, and Joyce Houk and Norene Bell, both of Mt. Vernon; nieces and nephews, Kim and Troy Hancock, Rhonda and Jeff McClure, Anita and Freddie Moore, Tabatha and Mark Mize, Lindsay and Thomas Coffey, Curtis and Krystal Gatliff, Brian Bell, and Chelsea Bell; and great nieces and nephews, Carly Mason, McKenzie Barron, Avery Gatliff, Austin Kirby, Tyler Kirby, Josh Hancock, J.C. McClure, Caimen McClure, Hudson Gatliff, Easton Coffey, and Ryan and Cora Moore. He is also survived by his very special friend, Leslie Rigsby.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his friend, his dog, “Bear”.
Visitation will be December 30, 2017 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Dowell and Martin Funeral Home, funeral services will be held after the visitation at 2:00 PM.
Donald Lee Blanton
Mr. Donald Lee Blanton, age 67 of Mt. Vernon, departed this life on Tues. December 26th, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky. He entered this life on November 20th, 1950 in Berea, Ky., a son of the late Carter and Sally Hensley Blanton.
He was of the Pentecostal faith and found great joy in walking, watching TV and working puzzles. He was a member of the Rockcastle Comp. Care.
Those left to celebrate his life are his sister, Mildred Baldwin of Crab Orchard, Ky; nieces Jennifer Brock, Susie McGuffy, JoAnn Rouse; nephews Johnny Baldwin, Joe Baldwin, Bennie, Bruce, David & Barry Blanton; and a host of friends and neighbors.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale & Jackie Blanton.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 27th, 2017 from 6-9Pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Funeral services will be conducted 1PM on Thursday, December 28th, 2017 at the funeral home with Bro. Steve Vanhook officiating.
Burial will follow in Freedom Cemetery.
Chester Cole Jr.
Chester Cole Jr. went to be with the Lord on December 27th, 2017 at Central Baptist Hospital after a short illness. Chester Cole, Jr. was born in Estill County on October 17th, 1943. He was the son of the late Chester and Mary Ethel (Withers) Cole.
He was a member of First Baptist Church. He retired from Leggett and Platt. He also worked and owned a service station.
Chester Cole, Jr is survived by his wife Barbara Morefield Cole of 46 years in addition to 3 sisters; Doris Fortney (Wendell) of Waco, KY, Lydia Harrison (Elmer Dallas) of Irvine, KY, Carolyn Baber of Irvine, KY and a twin brother, Lester Cole (Barbara) of Irvine, 2 brothers; Norman Cole (Emmaleen) of Waco, KY and Kenny Wayne Cole (Kelly) of Lexington, KY.
Chester Cole, Jr. is proceeded in death by a brother, Carl Cole; 2 sisters, Sally Cole, and Shirley Epperson.
