Harrison J. Barrett, age 77, widow of Patricia Kidwell Barrett died Monday, October 30, 2017 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. He was born February 15, 1940 in Berea, Kentucky to the late Reo and Ruby Rogers Barrett.
He was self-employed carpenter, and a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking and 4 wheeling.
Mr. Barrett is survived by his children; Gary Wayne Barrett and his wife Linda of Richmond, KY., Rex Harrison Barrett of Berea, KY., Dustie Carol Holt of Berea, KY., Patricia Ann Hatmaker and her husband Carl of Richmond, KY., and Ginny Sue Wheeler and her husband Robert of Berea, KY., four brothers, Clarence, Bill, Robert, and Donald Barrett all of Berea, KY., two sisters, Reda Carter of Ohio and Carol Sparks and her husband Jerry of Berea. Nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, November 01, 2017 at Davis & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Himes officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-9 PM at the funeral home.
Emanuel Miller, age 80, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Saint Joseph – East in Lexington. Mr. Miller was born September 4, 1937 in Madison County Ky., to the late Levi and Rosie Lee Dees Miller.
Emanuel was always on the go, a carpenter/plumber by trade, one of the hardest working men his family knew, a great provider, an avid boxing fan, and enjoyed hanging out with friends at Glades Road McDonalds. He was very much loved by family and all that knew him. Emanuel was of the Holiness faith.
Mr. Miller is survived by 5 daughters, Brenda Ruybol and her husband David of Lakewood Colorado, Deborah Baker of Berea, Ky., Cheri Miller Lunsford and her husband Ronald of Richmond Ky., Melissa Coffey and her husband Scott of Thornhill Tn., Kathy Dawson and her husband Jason of Berea, Ky., by 10 grandchildren, Angela Griffith, Steven Coffey, Stephanie Coffey, Heather Gibson, Dustin Bullock, Erica Bullock, Brittany Coffey, Casey Hayes, Emanuel Miller, Santana Dawson and 18 great grandchildren.
Other than his parents Emanuel was preceded in death by his wife Kathern Magdeline Miller and by his siblings Willard, Viola, John, and Velmer.
Funeral services will be 12:00 pm noon Monday, November 6, 2017 at Davis & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. John Dawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Miller Family Cemetery at Buffalo Hollow. Visitation will be 5-9pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Lunsford, David Ruybol, Scott Coffey, Dustin Bullock, Jason Dawson, Casey Hayes, Emanuel Miller, and Michael Blanton.
Richard Allen Arnold
Richard Allen Arnold age 69 of Berea, passed away, Thursday, November 2, 2017 at his home. Richard was born in Hancock County, Ohio to the late Floyd and Alberta Mae Arnold.
He retired from Whirlpool and was a self-employed painter. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam war.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister Delores Ashburn.
He is survived by his children, Sonjia Takeda, Richard Allen Arnold, Jr., Jayson (Lindsey) Arnold, and Cody Arnold; four grandchildren, Blake Allen Arnold, Houston Avery Arnold, Emery Arnold, and Remington Arnold; one great grandson Anthony; eight siblings, Charlotte Pelpery, Betty Smith, Janet Kahler, Donna Reed Tussing, Ruthann Bushong, Mary Towe, Earl Arnold and Lee Arnold.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 12:30 pm, Lakes Funeral Home in Berea with burial follow in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will
be Tuesday from 10am-12:30pm at the funeral home.
Peggy Jean Smith
Peggy Jean Smith age 63, died Wednesday Nov 1, 2017 of injuries sustained in a car accident.
Peggy had been a Nurse’s Aide at Pattie A Clay hospital for many years, and she was a member of the Victory Tabernacle Church of God in Richmond. Peggy was the daughter of the late Earl and Marie Gibbs Richardson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Smith and her husband and father of her children Verlis Johnson.
Peggy is survived by her children: Micky (Tenille) Johnson, and Kelly (Granville) Gambrel, her brothers Mason Richardson and Sherman Richardson, her sisters; Denise Jefferson, Eula Oliver and Judy Graham, and her grandchildren Maddox Johnson, Lexie May, and Logan Gambrel.
Funeral services will be Monday Nov. 6, 2017 at 1 pm with Geral Richardson officiating, burial will be in the Berea Cemetery. Visitation will also be Monday at 11 am until service time. Lakes Funeral Home in Berea is in charge of the arrangements.
B.J. Burns Jr.
B.J. Burns Jr., 46, Richmond, died at 10:21 p.m., Tuesday, October 31, 2017, from injuries sustained from a ruptured brain aneurysm. B.J. was born on Dec. 20, 1970, in Richmond, Ky and was a lifelong area resident.
He enjoyed working on cars, being outside, always being the comedian in the room and being around family and friends.
He is survived by his life long partner, Tonya Creech, his son Corey Creech, his daughter Bryanna Cates, his son-in-laws, Jonathan Creech & Austin Cates, his mother and step-father, Stella and Gary Covey; his step-mother and late father, Wilma and B.J. Burns Sr.; Three Brothers, Mikeal Burns, Faron Robinson, Bill Robinson; Three Sisters, Belinda Robinson, Tina Burns, Sherry Owens; Sister-in-laws, Gail Robinson, Terry Burns; Brother-in-law, Ron Owens and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 5, at Lakes Funeral Home in Berea. Burial will be in Pilot Knob Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Ray, Johnathan Pearson, Brandon Creech, Bill Robinson, Faron Robinson, Bobby Bowen, Adam Burns & Mikeal Burns. Honorary pallbearers include, Jonathan Creech, Austin Cates, Ricky McHone, Eddie Creech, Cody Creech & Michael Klein.

Katherine Renee Wildman
Katherine Renee Wildman, age 53 of Berea, passed away Monday, October 30, 2017 at Baptist Health in Lexington. Katherine was born in Howell, Michigan to the late Lawrence and Madeline Anstett.
She was of the Catholic faith and was employed by Hitachi in Berea.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one brother Larry Anstett
She is survived by her children Zack Wildman of Lexington, Julia Wildman of Berea and expecting her first grandchild in April. She is survived by 8 siblings, Janet Elgas, Barb Kattula, Susan Anstett, Debbie Faircloth, Lynn Piper, Paul Anstett, Chris Anstett, and Rick Anstett; 12 nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 12pm – 2pm at Lakes Funeral Home Berea.

James Gear,64, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

Gene C. Robinette Sr.
Gene C. Robinette, Sr., 78, of Richmond went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at his residence. Born May 4, 1939 in Embreeville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Kenneth M. and Nellie Elliott Robinette.
He had completed his machinist apprenticeship and was a retired plant engineer for Johnson Controls in Nicholasville. Gene had also worked in sales and service for Decanter Machine in Johnson City, Tennessee. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force and was a faithful member of the Richmond House of Prayer on Mule Shed Lane.
Survivors include his loving wife, Joyce of Richmond; two sons, Brent Robinette (Amy) of Richmond and Gene Robinette, Jr. (Pamela) of Erwin, TN; one daughter, Donna Pate (Jerome) of Cocoa, FL; one brother, Ken Robinette, Jr. (Barbara) of Jonesborough, TN; one sister, Millie Allen (Joe) of Melbourne, FL; three grandchildren, Corbin Robinette, Ginger Matson (James) and David Butler (Addie); two great-grandchildren, Zech and Ben Matson, as well as an “adopted” son, Lee Thompson (Kim) of Richmond. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service for Gene will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday, November 2, 2017, at the Richmond House of Prayer, with Pastor Owen Moody officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30 PM until service time on Thursday at the church. Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Raymond Earl Gooch
Mr. Raymond Earl Gooch, 75, of Dreyfus, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Madison County on December 12, 1941, to the late Frank Sr., and Nannie Alcorn Gooch.
He was a retired employee of the Okonite Cable Company and loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Gooch also enjoyed trading Horses, Knives, and Guns. He was a member of the Holiness Faith.
Survivors include: his wife, Ima Jean Cates Gooch; one son, Calvin Gooch (Paula), one daughter, Donna Lakes; three grandchildren, Austin Ray Lakes, Nicholas Paul Gooch, and Callie Nicole Gooch; one great-grandchildren, Adrian Lakes; one brother, Marion Gooch (Janice); three sisters, Geneva Linville, Barbara Shelton and Sue Chrisman (Bobby); as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by: four brothers, Rev. Frank Gooch, Jr., Harold Gooch, Henry Gooch, and James O. Gooch; and one sister, Alene Lakes.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 Monday, November 6, 2017, at the Bethesda House of Mercy, 2357 Dreyfus Road, Waco, KY, with Rev. Charlie Wilson, Rev. Dwight Northern, Rev. Charles Whitamore, and Rev. Leonard Wilder officiating. Burial will follow in the Gooch Family Cemetery at Dreyfus. Visitation will be after 3:00 PM Sunday, at the church. Charles Edward Gross
Charles Edward Gross, 65, of Berea, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Mr. Gross was born in Richmond, Kentucky on June 12, 1953 to the late Earl Sr., and Minnie Young Gross.
He was a truck driver for The Allen Company. Charles was a “jack-of-all-trades” and enjoyed working on old cars.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Freida Hardison Gross; two brothers, Robert Gross (Valerie), and Earl Gross, Jr., (Patricia); three sisters, Barbara Gross, Lucille Sexton (Robert), and Linda Fuson (Coby); three special “Grandchildren”, Nicholas Ford, Nichele Ford and Nicole Dooley; as well as various other family and friends.

C. Merill Adams, age 77, of Hudson Avenue in Irvine, passed away Saturday, November 4th, at the Compassionate Care Center, following a long illness. He was born October 14, 1940, in Estill County, a son of the late Leonard Rodney and Bessie Tipton Adams.
He was an appliance repairman with Jimmy Webb Appliances and had lived in Estill County most of his life. He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Christian Church.
He is survived by His Wife of 55 years Brenda C. Ross Adams, 2 Sons Steve Adams (Selisa), Jimmy Adams, A Sister Innas Watson (Elzy), 3 Brothers Shirley Adams (Doris), Gary Adams (Sondra), Tracy Adams (Judy) all of Estill Co.
He also leaves behind 4 Grandchildren BreAnda Browning (Kelby), Travis Adams, Taylor Young, Jimmy Adams II, A Great Grandchild Rhett Browning, A Sister-in-Law Vicki Adams of Estill Co. and Several Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by 1 Daughter, Deborah Renae Adams, and a Brother, Ed Adams.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Mark Pearson and Bro. Scott Rogers with burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may call between 6 and 9 PM Sunday.

Robert Dean White
Robert Dean White, age 80, of Clays Ferry Road in Richmond, passed away Friday, November 3rd, at the Irvine Health and Rehabilitation Center, following a long illness. He was born March 23, 1937, in Estill County, a son of the late Cecil and Effie Rose White.
He was retired from the Trane Company where he was a welder and had lived in Madison County since 1977. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Lexington and was a Veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by His Wife Juanita Alcorn White.
He was preceded in death by 1 Sister: Jean Motts, and 2 Brothers: Glendon Ray White and Tommy White.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday 2 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Ron Harp with burial to follow in the Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call after 10 AM Wednesday until service time.

Robert Vickers Sr.
Robert J. Vickers Sr. 74, husband of Susie Mae Vickers, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He was born on June 26, 1943 in Jackson County, Kentucky, the son of the late Bertie Pearson and Preston Vickers.
Robert was retired from Texas Instrument. He loved woodworking and building birdhouses. Robert was an avid deer hunter and member of New Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Denver Vickers and David Vickers.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Susie Mae Foley Vickers, Versailles, children, Lizsa Vickers Graul, Versailles, Connie (Brian) Cramer, Lawrenceburg, Mary (Matthew) Sims, Versailles, Robert Vickers, Jr., Versailles, Dale (Melanie) Vickers, Versailles, sisters, Dora (Rex) Cox, Jackson County, KY, Della Wilson, Richmond, brother, Delmer Vickers, Connersville, IN, nine grandchildren, Ashli Graul, Leslie Graul, James Clinton Tinsley, Shelby Sims, Zachery Childers, Zabez Saylor, Dylan Saylor, Given Robbins, and Chandler Grider, and five great-grandchildren.
