City Technicians Recognized

Berea Municipal Utilities Director Ed Fortner recognized two technicians who recently assisted Florida residents in the wake of Hurricane Irma. Dustin Barnett and Adrian Isaacs were honored at a Tuesday meeting of the Berea City Council for working 16-hour days to restore power to as many as 1,500 storm victims in Clewiston and Homestead, Florida. The men endured difficult working conditions to give help to those in need, Fortner said. Barnett and Isaacs thanked the council, mayor, and city administrator for allowing them to go to Florida to participate in the massive hurricane relief effort. The men also thanked their fellow technicians from Frankfort, who remained on the job when Barnett and Isaacs had to return to Berea. Mayor Steve Connelly expressed his appreciation to the two BMU employees, stating, “We appreciate your willingness to go and serve.”
