Berea Police Report Sept. 19, 2017

ARRESTED

Drug Arrest: On 09/15/2017 officers were called to the area of Prince Royal Drive in reference to a male subject who appeared to be under the influence. The subject was located and showed several signs of impairment. He had a small plastic bag of synthetic marijuana and crushed soda can with a burn hole in the top of it in his pants pockets.

Officers arrested 29 year old Jordan Hays of Berea KY and charged him with Public Intoxication, Possession of Synthetic Drugs 1st Offense, and Drug Paraphernalia Possession.

ARRESTED

EPO/DVO Violation: On 09/15/2017 officers were called to the area of Peggy Flats Road in reference to the violation of a protective order. The victim reported that a male subject followed her for several miles, and a protective order prevented contact between the parties.

Officers arrested 38 year old Ray Higgins of Orlando KY and charged him with Violation of a KY EPO/DVO.

ARRESTED

Receiving Stolen Property: On 09/14/2017 an officer observed a bicycle trailer at Redi Mart on Glades Road that had been reported stolen earlier in the day. A male subject was in possession of the trailer, which contained several items. Among the items inside was mail matter that belonged to the victim of the theft. They also learned that the subject had sold a set of golf clubs to a pawn shop that had also been reported stolen.

Officers arrested 38 year old Gregory Downs Jr of Berea KY and charged him with Receiving Stolen Property U/$500 and Receiving Stolen Property U/$10,000.

ARRESTED

Receiving Stolen Property: On 09/12/2017 officers were called to Richmond Road in reference to a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was located in a parking lot, and it was confirmed stolen out of Jessamine County. There was a male subject with the vehicle who appeared to be changing a tire. As the officers went to detain him, he attempted to run and then wrestled with the officers.

Officers arrested 34 year old Donnie Frye of Lexington KY and charged him with the following:

-Receiving Stolen Property $10,000 or More
-Resisting Arrest
-Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree
-Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree
-Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place
-Possession of Open Alcohol Container in a Motor Vehicle

ARRESTED

Public Intoxication: On 09/11/2017 officers were called to the area of Mt. Vernon Road in reference to a person who was possibly under the influence. The subject was located stumbling in the street, and showed other signs of impairment.

Officers arrested 34 year old Jeffrey Anglin of Berea KY and charged him with Public Intoxication.

Criminal Mischief: On 09/16/2017 school employees at Madison Southern High School reported that a concession window had been damaged on school grounds. Estimated Loss: $1,000.00.

Robbery: On 09/13/2017 two victims reported that they were walking on the trail between Elm Street and East Street after dark. Two male subjects came up behind them and held one of the victims on the ground, while the other victim was struck in the face. The subjects took a cell phone from one of the victims and ran away on foot.

Theft: On 09/11/2017 a resident in the 1000 block of Brooklyn Blvd reported that items were stolen from a parked vehicle overnight. Estimated Loss: $200.00.
