Roy Quinley Sr.
Roy “Sonnie” Quinley Sr. 76, of Berea, died Friday, August 25, 2017 at Baptist Health Berea. He was a life-long resident of Berea, born September 3, 1940, son of the late Roy Everett Conn and Christine Quinley.
He was a retired mechanic with Toyota South, member of the Pilot Knob Baptist Church, and the Masonic Lodge. Roy was a family man, always showing his love for his family, and greatly enjoyed family gatherings. He was also enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming in his spare time.
Survivors include 3 sons, Roy (Debbie) Quinley, Robert Clark (Rachel) Quinley, Stacy (Cristy) Quinley; grandchildren, Christopher, Kayla, Emily, Branson, Monica Faye (Chris) Wagers; half-brother, Eddie (Martha) Conn; half-sister, Darlene Begley; Uncle, Junior Quinley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Faye Shearer Quinley; and 3 siblings, Billy Conn, George Quinley, Roger Moore.
Funeral Service 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Pilot Knob Baptist Church with Pastor Greg Lakes and Pastor Wayne Harding officiating. Burial will follow in Pilot Knob Cemetery. Visitation 6:00 – 9:00 pm Tuesday at the church. Reppert Funeral Home and Cremation Service entrusted with arrangements.
Pallbearers will be: Chris Quinley. Chris Wagers, Billy Shearer, William Shearer, Jeff Horn, Ricky Clontz.
Lizzie Causey Adams, 90, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017 at St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington. Lizzie was born in Leslie County to the late C.B. and Mary Wells Causey.
She was formerly employed by Parker Seal and was a farmer. She was a member of the holiness faith and formerly attended Cartersville Holiness Church.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband John Adams, one son Dallas Adams, and five brothers, Raymond, Herbert, Sam, Jim and Willie “Bill” Causey.
She is survived by her children Denver (Wilma) Adams, Della (Darrell) Lear, Stanley (Letha) Adams, and Donnie Adams; one brother John (Viney) Causey; two sisters Goldie Tudor and Mae Lamb; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1pm, Monday, August 28, 2017 at Lakes Funeral Home Berea with Bro. Greg Cress officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 12pm until 1pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Scott Adams, Trenton Adams, Tucker Adams, Jared Hawley, Jimmy Shearer, and Anthony Bryant.
Christine Robinson Rose of Huber Heights Ohio, formerly of Berea, KY, died Sunday Aug. 20, 2017 in Ohio. She was born in Madison County to the late W.S. and Benda Davis Johnson.
Christine was a member of the Berea Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Russell Robinson and Jim Rose, and her son Charles Robinson, and her siblings: William Johnson, Charles “Cully” Johnson, Donald Johnson, Geraldine McKeehan, Ruby B. Johnson, Tabitha Young, and Mae Richardson.
Christine is survived by her son James (Sally) Robinson and daughter Betty (John) Altevers, her niece Brenda Kay Saylor, 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday Aug. 25, 2017 at 1 pm at Lakes Funeral Home Berea with Rev. Kevin Slemp officiating; Burial will be in the Berea Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11 am until 1 pm at the Funeral Home.
David Hicks, 53, of Berea, died suddenly at his residence Saturday, August 26, 2017. He was a Dayton, Ohio native born October 16, 1964, son of the late Manas Hicks and the late Louanna Brewer Falin.
David was a U.S. Navy Veteran, construction worker, and had been a resident of the Berea area most of his life,
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Rothwell Hicks, 4 children, Devan Branson, Caitlyn Branson, Alma Reeves, Anthony Hicks; grandson, Mason Branson; and 3 siblings. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 1 sibling.
In accordance with David’s wishes, he was cremated and no public service is scheduled at this time. A Memorial Service will be held later. Date and time to be announced. Reppert Funeral Home and Cremation Service entrusted with arrangements.
Pauline “Paula” Allen Nelson, 78, of Richmond, the widow of Paul M. Nelson passed away, Friday, August 25, 2017 at her home. Paula was born February 26, 1939 in Breathitt County, KY, to the late Edgar and Evalee Taulbee Allen.
She retired as hairdresser after 42 years and was of interdenominational- Protestant faith.
Survivors include her companion and soul mate, James Gatliff of Richmond, a son Greg Nelson, a daughter Paulette Nelson Bork, 2 sisters Irene Overbee of Lexington, KY, Phyllis A. Carpenter Wall of Richmond, KY2 brothers Edgar Allen Jr. of Jackson, KY, Lee Allen of Campton, KY 4 nieces, Karen Overbee, Lavonne C. Rutten, Debbie A, Fugate and Teresa A Ledford 7 nephews L. Jackson Carpenter, Mike Overbee, Rick Overbee, Danny Overbee Tim Overbee, Anthony Allen and Lee Allen II. As well several other nieces and nephews.
Other than her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Brenda Cortie.
Graveside services for Paula will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Fort Knox,KY with Jason Carpenter officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 5-9 PM at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jason Carpenter, Austin Riggs, James Gatliff, Robert Grady and Lee Allen.
Terry Eugene Meek
Terry Eugene Meek, 72, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the V A Medical Center in Lexington. Born July 2, 1945, in Lafayette, Indiana, he was the son of Bryan Floyd and Edith Josephine Bell Meek, both of whom preceded him in death.
Terry was retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he had served as a crew chief. Terry was also the owner and operator of Meek Print Shop. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Central Kentucky Model “A” Restorers Club.
Surviving is his wife, Donna Marie Gretencord Meek of Richmond; one son Mark Patrick Meek (Tamara) of Richmond; one daughter, Cheryl Christine Meek Lester (Dale) of Grand Rapids, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Christopher Meek, James Lester, Kelsey Meek and Sarah Meek; and one sister-in-law, Glenda Meek.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Wilson and brother, Max Bryan Meek.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 28, 2017 at St. Mark Catholic Church, with Father Tom Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 – 8 PM at the church. Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Meek, James Lester, Bill Gavin, Steve Green, Chris Robar, and Jerry Baker. Honorary bearers will be Gary Smith, Mike Wilson, Bill Gray, Gene Paccvsky, Denis Bauer, Dave Silver, Charlie Norton, James Poe, David Gretencord, Max Gretencord, and Wayne Gretencord.

Thomas Eugene Masters
Thomas Eugene Masters, 89, husband of the late Sammye Million Masters, died on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 in Thompson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, Kentucky.
He was the owner of Masters TV and Appliances in Lexington, Kentucky and was of the Baptist Faith he was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Olieka Shrine Temple.
Survivors include one daughter, Laura Randall of Lexington, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sammye Million Masters, his parents Lonnie and Eva Carnes Masters, one son Thomas Eugene Masters II and one sister, Gladys Joy Thompson.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Richmond Cemetery with military honors following. The Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home is conducting all services.
Grace Westover Green, 79, of Richmond, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. Grace, the daughter of the late Larue Westover and Carrie Kelley Westover, was born August 9, 1939 in Westover, Pennsylvania.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years Carl Green; five children Paul Wayne, Richard Clay, Jonathan David, James Carl Green of Richmond, Kentucky and Rebecca Green Tucker of Bear Creek, North Carolina; twelve grandchildren Michael Green, Ashley Green, Sarah Green, Marisa Green, Jordan Green, Kathryn Green, Eleanor Green, Johnathan Tucker, Joseph Tucker, Cyndi Green, Kristi Green, and Nathan Green; three great grandchildren Noah Green, Emma King, and Lucia Isaacs. She is also survived by her sister Mary Westover and brother Edward Westover of Middlefield, Ohio.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her three sisters, Sarah Ella Leamier , Goldy Beck, Carrie Westover, and six brothers, Richard, Bud, Clyde, Melton, Bob (Robert), and Hershel Westover. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that she cherished dearly.
She retired from a career working for North American Phillips Lighting. Grace was a member of Newby Baptist Church and would like to recognize several church friends including Vicki Mills, Justin Woosley, Ryan Griggs, Jeremy Lane, and Ethan Abney.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Oldham, Roberts, & Powell Funeral Home in Richmond, KY. Visitation will held Monday evening from 5-9 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to the services. She will be interred at the Viney Fork Baptist Church cemetery located in Speedwell, Kentucky.
Family and friends will be pallbearers.
Expressions of sympathy suggested include Newby Baptist Church Building Fund, American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association, Madison County Rescue Squad, and Waco Volunteer Fire Department.
Elaina Geneva Scott
Elaina Geneva Scott, infant daughter of Amy Lynn Johnson and Justin William Scott, passed away August 21, 2017 at Baptist Health – Richmond.
Other survivors include grandparents, Rebecca Johnson, Anne Scott, Anthony Blanton and great grandmother Carole A. Stevens. Other survivors include her uncle, J. D. Scott (Desaree) and three cousins, Sidney, Tabitha and Brandi Scott.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the Richmond Cemetery. Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Louise Estes Rupard
Mrs. Louise Estes Rupard, 90, of Waco, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center. She was born on June 12, 1927, in Madison County to the late Elisha and Bessie Price Estes.
She retired from Westinghouse / Philips North America after 41 years of dedicated work. Mrs. Rupard was a member of the Flatwoods Christian Church.
Survivors include: two granddaughters, Tara Beth Roark & Taylor McQueen; one brother, Earl Estes; six great-grandchildren, Ayliana, Annalysa, Taven, Jayden, Rebecca and McKenzie; as well as a host of other family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by: her husband of 61 years, Charles Rupard; one daughter, Sherry McQueen; three brothers, Clarence, Russell and Edgar Estes; and two sisters, Edna Hunter and Dorothy Johns.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 28, 2017 at the Flatwoods Christian Church, 263 College Hill Road, Waco, with Bro. Tim Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 PM Sunday, at the church. The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, is in charge of the arrangements.

Naomi Ray Johnson
Mrs. Naomi Ray Johnson, 72 of McKee, formerly, of Richmond, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Berea. She was born on January 4, 1945 in Madison County to the late William Ray & Nancy Croucher Ray Gabbard.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family and friends.
She is survived by: her children, Ricky Johnson, Michael Johnson, Nancy Burnham (William); her sister, Nancy Ray Everett (Ivan); four grandchildren, Robert Deaton (Angela) Sean Richie, Jessica Johnson (Lee Adams), and Rick Johnson, Jr., (Amber); three great-grandchildren, Joshua Cardwell, Chastity Cardwell and Tarra Johnson; her dog, Mya; as well as a host of other family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by: her husband, Bobby A. Johnson; one daughter, Patricia Johnson and two brothers, Chester Ray and William Allen Ray.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, with Bro. Tommy Masters officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12:00 PM (noon) Friday at the funeral home.

Benjamin Scott Price
Mr. Benjamin Scott Price, 45 of Richmond, departed this life on Thursday, August 24th, 2017 at the Baptist Health Hospital. He was born in Mt. Vernon, KY on Feburary 4th, 1972 to Walter & Genealia (Bishop) Price.
He was a stone mason by trade and attended the Crossroad Assembly Church. He enjoyed spending time and playing with his grandbabies.
Those left to celebrate his life are: his parents Walter Price and Genealia Bishop of Brodhead, KY; his children Vanessa (Harry) Hunsucker of Richmond, KY, Savanna Price & Dalton Price, both of McDowell, KY; his grandchildren Karmyn & Grady Hunsucker; his brother James Price of Mt. Vernon, KY; his paternal grandmother Anna Mae Kirby; as well as a host of friends and neighbors.
Benjamin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James & Sarah Elizabeth Bishop.
Funeral Services for Benjamin will be conducted at 2PM on Monday, August 28th, 2017 at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with a visitation being held prior starting at 12PM.
Harlow Neace, 63 of Mt. Vernon, passed away Tuesday, August 22nd, 2017 at his home. He was born on September 21st, 1953 to the late Rufus & Beatrice (Gwin) Neace in Perry County, KY.
He was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed fishing, watching U.K. Basketball, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Those left to celebrate his life are: his wife Molly Lou Bullock; his step children Regina (Abraham) Aster of Berea, KY, Gail Rosiere, Ronnie Bullock, Samantha “Sam” Hellard & Billy Hellard all of Mt. Vernon, KY; his six grandchildren; his six step grandchildren; his sisters Ruby (Ismael) Oliveras of Lafayette, IN, and Pearlie Miller of Lafayette, IN; as well as many friends and neighbors.
Besides his parents, Harlow was preceded in death by his children Ronnie Neace, Renee Neace & Step Daughter Michelle Monk; his brothers Hobert, Robert, & Samuel Neace; and his sister Maryann Neace.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 3rd, 2017 at the Silver Eagle in Renfo Valley from 2-4PM.
Ricky D. Harris
Mr. Ricky D. Harris, age 63 husband of Iola, of Berea, Ky. passed away Monday, August 21st, 2017 at Baptist Health in Lexington. He was born on May 11th, 1954 to Arthur Jr. & Preda (Bishop) Harris in Berea, KY.
On Feburary 7th, 1982 he was united in Holy Matrimony to Iola Leger and from that union came Ashley & Ricky Jr. He was a truck driver by trade having driven over the road for 20 years. Ricky enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Those left to celebrate his life are: his wife of 35 years Iola Harris; his mother, Preda Harris of Brodhead, Ky.; his children Ashley (Jon) Sanders of Mt. Vernon, KY & Ricky Harris Jr. of Berea, KY; his grandchildren Jake, Haley & Ashton Sanders; his brothers Terry Harris, Troy (Sheryl) Harris & John (Worth Ann) Harris, all of Brodhead, KY; his sister Donna (Steve) Howard of Livingston, KY; his very special brothers & sisters in law; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Harris, Jr.

Gloria Faye Newman
Gloria Faye Newman, age 75, a resident of the Baptist Convalescent Home in Newport passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ft. Thomas following a long illness. She was born November 10, 1941 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Columbus and Susan Horn Flanery.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church. She had lived in Estill County most of her life.
She is survived by Her daughter Susan Newman of Berea, 2 Sisters Norma Flanery of Winchester, Martha Frisby of TN, 3 Grandchildren Kyle, Alexis and Mandrea Newman.
She was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Charlene Newman, 3 sons; Ray, Wayne and Jeffery Newman, 3 sisters; Betty Flanery, Jewel Aldridge, Carol Lee and 2 brothers; Linburg Flannery and James Flanery.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 24, 11 AM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Glennis Sizemore. Burial will be at the Peters Cemetery. Friends may call after 10 AM Thursday at the Funeral Home.
Joli Elizabeth Parks
Joli Elizabeth “Beth” Parks, age 44, of Dry Branch Road in Irvine passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017, at the Baptist Health Richmond following a long illness. She was born October 11, 1972 in Estill County and was the daughter of Sharon Kay Puckett Parks and the late Joe “Shorty” Parks.
She was a former Family Dollar employee and a member of the West Bend First Church of God. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
Survivors in addition to her mother include 1 Brother Jason Todd Parks & wife, Corinna of Berea, 2 Nieces Olivia and Abigail Parks.
She had special people in her life including caregivers and aunts, Pat Long, Dianna Puckett, Marilyn Dunaway, Teresa Powell and cousins; Lisa Howell Long and Gary Long. These people always made sure she laughed every day, she was spoiled, but most of all, she knew she was loved by them all.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 23, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. James Combs. Burial will be at the Puckett Cemetery. Friends may call between 6 and 9 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
