Berea Police Report Jun. 28, 2017

ARRESTED

DUI Arrest: On 06/23/2017 officers were called to Short Line Pike in reference to a vehicle that struck a utility pole. The vehicle left the scene, but was located at a residence on Gabbardtown Road. The driver showed several signs of impairment and was placed under arrest.

Officers charged 45 year old Shelby Winkler of Berea KY with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense.

Several hours later, Winkler was released and officers received another complaint that he was driving under the influence. He was located in the same vehicle on Short Line Pike, and refused to pull over for the officer. He eventually stopped, and again showed several signs of impairment.

Winkler was placed under arrest a second time for Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence and Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree.

ARRESTED

Alcohol Intoxication: On 06/23/2017 an officer observed two subjects on Lester Street in the early morning hours. Both of the subjects showed signs of intoxication, and stated that they had been drinking.

Officers arrested 18 year old Randall Pigg JR of Berea KY and 18 year old Andrew Allen of Berea KY. They were both charged with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place.

ARRESTED

Shoplifting Arrests: On 06/22/2017 officers were called to Walmart after employees observed two subjects attempt to leave the store with concealed merchandise. Both subjects concealed items that totaled $239.35, before being stopped by store employees.

Officers arrested 23 year old Terry Estes of Irvine KY and 24 year old Holly Riddell of Irvine KY. They were both charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking Shoplifting.

ARRESTED

Shoplifting Arrest: On 06/23/2017 officers were called to Family Dollar in reference to a shoplifter. Store employees observed the subject conceal merchandise totaling $67.25, before attempting to leave the store.

Officers arrested 33 year old Rosie Wagers of Berea KY and charged her with Theft by Unlawful Taking Shoplifting.

ARRESTED

Receiving Stolen Property: On 06/25/2017 officers were called to a field behind Brooklyn Blvd in reference to a vehicle ramming into a fence. The responding officer observed the vehicle attempting to drive through the fence, and then get stuck in a ditch. The driver of the vehicle appeared to be confused and showed several signs of impairment. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Florida and the driver had several arrest warrants.

Officers arrested 33 year old Danielle Miller of Artemus KY and charged her with the following:

-Receiving Stolen Property Under $10,000
-Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 2nd Offense
-Reckless Driving
-Operating on Suspended License
-Criminal Mischief 1st Degree

ARRESTED

DUI Arrest: On 06/25/2017 officers were called to the 500 block of Prospect Street in reference to a motor vehicle collision. A pickup truck had driven through the yard of a residence and struck a parked vehicle in the driveway. The driver of the pickup had an odor of alcohol and was placed under arrest.

Officers charged 20 year old Jordan Swinney of Berea KY with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol <21 Years of Age. [caption id="attachment_63022" align="alignleft" width="280"] ARRESTED[/caption]
Shoplifting Arrest: On 06/24/2017 officers were called to Walmart in reference to a shoplifter. Employees observed the subject attempt to leave the store with merchandise that he did not pay for.

Officers arrested 52 year old Larry McClure of Mount Vernon KY and charged him with Theft by Unlawful Taking Shoplifting.

ARRESTED

Alcohol Intoxication: On 06/24/2017 officers were called to South Dogwood Drive in reference to a person laying in the ditch. He attempted to walk away before officers arrived, but he was eventually located. He showed several signs of impairment and was placed under arrest.

Officers charged 22 year old Raymond Poynter of Mount Vernon KY with Public Intoxication.

ARRESTED

DUI Arrest: On 06/20/2017 officers were called to the intersection of Highway 1016 and Short Line Pike in reference to a motor vehicle collision. One of the drivers involved had a strong odor of alcohol, and showed several other signs of intoxication.

Officers arrested 24 year old Cameron Lashelle of Berea KY and charged him with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense.
