Christopher Allen King
Christopher Allen King, 32, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 in Lexington. He was born November 11, 1984, in Paducah, KY to Bruce King of Bowling Green, and Connie Keilholz Camp, of Richmond.
Christopher enjoyed driving go carts and loved music. He enjoyed growing plants and appreciated their beauty.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one son, Allen King of Murrelles Inlet, South Carolina, one sister, Courtney King of North Carolina and one brother, Andrew Key of Lexington, Kentucky.
Funeral service for Christopher will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, Richmond, KY. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
David Eugene Cole
David Eugene “Flash” Cole, 65, of Waco, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Baptist Health – Lexington. Born January 28, 1952, in Lexington, Kentucky, Dave was the son of the late Richard and Fannie Means Cole.
He was a retired foreman for the Kentucky Department of Transportation. He was a long-time member of the Peacemakers Club of Kentucky and where he served as vice president.
He is survived by two sons, Alex Cole (Kathy) of Waco and D.J. Cole (Joan) of Nicholasville; one daughter, Toni Cole of Jackson County; two sisters Thelma Johnson (Bob) of Fayette County and Jamie McKinley-Lindsey of Morehead; and seven grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Langfels and one brother, Doug Cole.
Service for Dave will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Peacemakers Cemetery at Waco. Visitation will be from 6 – 9 PM Wednesday and after 11:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Alex Cole, D. J. Cole, Shannon Walker, Jaxon Cole, Joey Ray and Tim Casey.
Ruth Ann Centers
Mrs. Ruth Ann Roberts Centers, 46, of Waco, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Ruth, the daughter of the late Ray Roberts and Kathleen Hall Roberts, was born in Clay County on June 10, 1970.
She was devoted to her family and her grandchildren were the center of her life. She loved to cook, be outdoors, travel and she always brought laughter and light everywhere she went. Harvest Time Worship Center was her home church.
Survivors include her son: James Codey Ray Centers of Waco; her daughter: Erikka Kandace Moore and husband Dean of Richmond; three brothers: Robert Lee Roberts and wife Sharon, Michael Roberts and Marty Roberts and wife Lisa; two sisters: Sharon Robertson and Kathy Roberts and husband Danny and two grandchildren: Carlie Kathleen Moore and Cameron Moore.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:30 PM Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 1:30 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be her son and brothers, as well as, Dean Moore, Chas Robertson, and Danny Allen.
Nila Irene Cheap
Mrs. Nila Irene Maggard Cheap, 89, of Richmond, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington. Mrs. Cheap was born on March 17, 1928 in Harlan County Kentucky.
She worked for AARP in the Pharmacy Department. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her love of painting.
She is survived by a host of family and friends, including her sister, Mary Little (Tim), of Richmond.
Graveside services will be private. The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, 328 W. Main St. Richmond, is in charge of the arrangements.
Betsy C. Smith
Betsy C. Smith, 88, the widow of George Lee Smith, died peacefully Tuesday evening, May 16, 2017. Born in Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Betsy Harber Igo and James Cloud Carr. A graduate of Model High School.
She attended Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Masters of Sciences Degree and was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Alpha Delta Kappa. She was a retired teacher having taught for 18 years at White Hall Elementary School and also worked part-time in the Education Department at EKU for 12 years. In 1987 she was awarded Teacher of the Year by the Richmond Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church since April 6, 1941, she served three terms as an Elder and taught the Children’s Choir. In addition, she started the first handbell choir in Madison County.
She is survived by two children: G. Lee Smith of Richmond and Betsy Smith Deffley (Tim) of South Windsor, CT; three grandchildren: Timothy, Michael and Elizabeth Deffley as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter: Amelia Ann Smith and her brother: Richard Igo Carr.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at The First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Curtis Christian officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Friday evening at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Walt Park, Danny Turner, Mike Brandenburg, Ben Cormney, John Green, Timothy Deffley, Michael Deffley and Evan McCord. Honorary Pallbearers will be any former choiresters and bell ringers.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers, Linda Nevius, Kathy Harrison and Bonnie Burns.

Tawn Elizabeth Chance
Miss Tawn Elizabeth Chance, 44 of Lexington, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at her home in Lexington. She was born in Wayne County, IN on May 17, 1972 the daughter of Joseph Chance and the late Patsy Darlene Senters.
She was a 1990 graduate of Rockcastle County High School, a member of Oak Island Baptist Church in Visilia, KY, loved Sunday Football and was the Pittsburg Steelers biggest fan, a UK Wildcat fan and enjoyed Karaoke. She was also employed by Trane Company and ACS until her retirement.
She is survived by her loving boyfriend of 20 years: Andre Hutsell of Lexington; three brothers: Bradley and Lily Newcomb of Lancaster, KY, Rusty and Rose Newcomb of Florence, KY and Jason Newcomb of Livingston, KY; her grandmother: Ann Senters of Richmond, KY; two uncles: Larry and Tammy Senters and Paul Senters both of Livingston, KY; two aunts: Elizabeth and Ralph Tipton of Brodhead, KY and Angela and Michael McKinney of Bradenton, FL; four nieces: Ashley, Brianna, Alisha and Jessie Newcomb and two nephews: Nathaniel and Riley Newcomb.
Miss Chance was preceded in death by her mother: Patsy Darlene Senters; her step-father: Donald Dale Newcomb; her grandfather: Eugene Senters and her great grandmother: Gladys Smith.
Visitation will be 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the Dowell and Martin Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM.
Carolyn Sue Damrell
Carolyn Sue “Curly” (Smith) Damrell, 60 of Berea, passed away Friday, May 19th, 2017 at her residence. She was born on August 28th, 1956 in Berea, KY., the daughter of the late Earl & Edna Pauline (Bradley) Smith.
She was a member of the Roundstone Baptist church and enjoyed cooking, shopping, caring for her dog, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was a member of the Berea Collage Sewing Club.
Those left to celebrate her life are: her children Emily Damrell of Richmond, KY., & Shawn (Angie) Damrell of Berea, KY.; her grandchildren Corey, Kyler & Summer Damrell; her brothers Eugene (Betty) Smith of Cincinnati, OH., Donnie (Roxanne) Smith of Louisville, KY., & Roger (Cassie) Smith of Corydon, IN.; her sisters Barbara (Daryl) McFerron of Mt. Vernon, KY., Linda Fisher of Cincinnati, OH., & Lisa Reams of Mt. Vernon, KY; sister-in-law’s Donna Smith & Sheryl Smith, two great nieces Kenleigh & Sydney; a special friend Doug Henderson; as well as a host of friends and neighbors.
Besides her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her brothers Jeffery, Harold, & Larry Smith.
Visitation for Carolyn will be held on Sunday, May 21st, 2017 from 11-2pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm on Sunday with Bro. Eugene Gentry officiating. Burial will follow in the Ottawa Cemetery.
Paul Eugene Hansel
Mr. Paul Eugene Hansel, 76, husband of Virginia, passed away Thursday, May 18th, 2017 at the Lake Cumberland Hospital with family by his side. He was born on March 3rd, 1941 to the late William Renis and Inez (McClure) Hansel in Pine Hill, KY.
On September 30th, 1962 he was united in Holy Matrimony to Virginia Brown and from that union came two children: Anthony and Tammy. He was a retired worker of Ready Mix, a member of the Providence Church of Christ and he enjoyed horseback riding, camping, farming & mowing.
Those left to celebrate Paul’s life are: his wife of 54 years, Virginia Hansel; his children Anthony Alan (Cynthia) Hansel of Berea, KY., and Tammy Lee (Marc) Hopkins of London, KY.; his grandchildren Justin Wade (Lauren) Hopkins of London, KY., Jordan Paul (Danielle) Hopkins of London, KY., Kenneth Ray Hansel of Leesville, LA., and Casey Allen Hansel of Leesville, LA.; his great grandchildren Elizabeth Strum, Tracey Hansel, Connor Hansel, Eleanor Rose Hopkins; his three step-grandchildren; his six step-great grandchildren; his brothers Bobby Lee (Bessie) Hansel of Somerset, KY., Gary Ray (Sherri) Hansel of Mt. Vernon, KY., and Larry Benton (Jerri) Hansel of Mt. Vernon, KY.; his sister Joyce Ann (Don) Pott of Virginia; his two special sister-in-law’s Kathee Staton & Christine Taylor; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.
Besides his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Kenneth Hansel.
Visitation for Paul will be held on Friday, May 19th, 2017 from 6-9pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Another visitation will be held from 11AM-2PMon Saturday, May 20th, 2017 at the Providence Church of Christ with funeral services being conducted at 2PM with Danny McKibben officiating. Burial will follow in the Providence Cemetery.

Michael Glen Muncy
Michael Glen Muncy, age 58, of Oak Valley Road in Irvine passed away Friday, May 19, 2017, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness. He was born October 14, 1958 in Madison County and was the son of the late Bobby and Anna Bell Marcum Muncy.
He was a supervisor at Baker Pool Supply and attended the Victory Tabernacle. He had lived in Estill County all his life.
He is survived by His wife Bridgette Miller Muncy, 2 Step-Daughters Wendi Winkler of Estill Co., Traci Wiseman of Clark Co., 1 Step-Son Ryan Wiseman & wife, Miranda of Madison Co., 2 Brothers Bobby Muncy & wife, Pat, James Muncy both of Estill Co., 3 Nephews James (Dasha) Muncy, Jr., Chad Muncy, Joey (Mary) Muncy and Special Friend Tom Brakefield.

Marion Riddell, age 65, of Hoys Fork in Irvine passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Baptist Health Lexington following a short illness. He was born December 23, 1951 in Estill County and was the son of the late Virgil and Pauline Frederick Turner Riddell.
He was a farmer and had lived in Estill County all his life.
He is survived by 1 Daughter Mary Jane Wilson & husband, Eugene of Madison Co., 2 Sisters Ruth Ann Farthing, Lorena Willis, 3 Brothers Joe Riddell, Richard Riddell, Robert Riddell all of Estill Co., 2 Grandchildren John Alan Wilson & Lauren Nicole Wilson, Special Nephew Joseph Virgil Riddell, Mary Jane’s mother Thelma Riddell and His Companion Patty Mason.
He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Betty June Willis and 1 brother, Cecil Riddell.

Harold Douglas Brandenburg
Harold Douglas Brandenburg, age 72, of Reese Street in Irvine passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017, at the Baptist Health Lexington following a short illness. He was born August 6, 1944 in Estill County and was the son of the late Fred and Willie Hume Richardson Brandenburg.
He was a retired United States Post Office employee and a member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church. He was a former member of the United States Army Reserves. He had lived in Estill County all his life.
He is survived by His wife Carol Mabry Brandenburg, 1 Daughter Leah Brandenburg Ison & husband, Robert, 1 Son Jason Douglas Brandenburg & wife, Tracy all of Madison Co., 2 Sisters Madonna Jenkins, Evelyn Jean Williams, 1 Brother Fred Brandenburg, Jr. all of Estill Co. and 4 Grandchildren Hannah Beth Ison, Natalie Ann Ison, Jesse Kate Brandenburg and Josie Kara Brandenburg
He was preceded in death by 4 sisters; Lillian Kirk, Delma Lee Lakes, Lena B. Henry and Jo Etta Brandenburg and 2 brothers; Russell and James Brandenburg.

Lillian Sylvia Huber
Lillian Sylvia Huber was born November 26, 1946 in Eton, OH and departed this life Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Baptist Health Hospital in Richmond, being 70 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Frank Paul Huber & Louise (Glaub) Huber.
Lillian is survived by her son, Joey (Charlene Smith) Huber of McKee; by a brother, Harvey Huber of McKee, and by four sisters, Martha Templeton of Connersville, IN, Teresa Littrell of Somerset, Emily Scott of London and Margaret Allen of Annville. Lillian was blessed with two grandchildren, Mackenzie Fox and Tamra Lee Huber.
In addition to her parents, Lillian was also preceded in death by three brothers, Larry, Leo & Christopher Huber and by three sisters, Jane, Georgia & Evelyn Huber.

Ronnie Marcum was born April 6, 1955 in Jackson County and departed this life Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the Baptist Health Hospital in Richmond, being 62 years of age. He was the son of the late Carl & Christine (Powell) Marcum.
Ronnie is survived by two brothers, David Marcum and Carl Marcum Jr. both of Sand Gap and by four sisters, Ruby Brock and husband Wade of Richmond, Teresa Dodds and husband Robert, Minnie Gray of Sand Gap and Mary Isaacs and husband Brice of Sand Gap. Ronnie was blessed with a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was also preceded in death by two sisters, Vadis Marcum and Juanita Campbell.
