Fonzer C. Clemons

Fonzer C. Clemons, age 92 passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017 at his home. He was born on February 21, 1925 to Curt & Mary Clemons.

He was a lifelong resident of the Kerby Knob community of Jackson County. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theater and a retiree of the Bluegrass Army Depot. He was a member of Kerby Knob Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Thelma Powell Clemons, by a daughter Judy Clemons Ross and a grandson, Ray Curtis Clemons.

He is survived by four sons, Chesley (JoAnn) Clemons of Kerby Knob; Donald (Joyce) Clemons of Richmond; Gene (Valerie) Clemons of Walnut Cove, North Carolina; and Jack (Louise) Clemons of Berea; a daughter, Kay (Tim) Jordan of Berea; a sister, Elaine Miller of Kerby Knob; a son in law, Joe Ross of Frankfort; by thirteen grandchildren: Sandra Buckner; C.C. Clemons; Craig Clemons; Nikki Madden; Donette Cunigan; Chris Ross; Kimberly Taylor; Curt Clemons; Veronica Moore; Melissa Green; Heather Hunt; Shilo Clemons; and Justin Clemons; by 22 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren, and by his faithful dog Bess.

Funeral service 1:00PM Friday, April 21, 2017 at Kerby Knob Baptist Church with Bro. Darren Hisel officiating. Burial followed in the Kerby Knob Cemetery. Visitation 6:00 P.M. Thursday April 20, 2017 at the Funeral Home also 11:00 A.M. Friday until the Funeral Hour. Lakes Funeral Home McKee is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be his sons and sons in law.
