On Saturday, Oct. 24, Peggy Sherry, of Somerset, will demonstrate techniques used in oil painting during her demonstration from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea.

Sherry works in a variety of mediums, including oil, pastel and watercolor. While primarily a realist, she enjoys combining abstract or impressionistic backgrounds with a recognizable subject, and she paints everything from murals to equine portraits to national park landscapes and florals.

The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea features works by more than 700 artisans from more than 100 counties across the Commonwealth. The center’s exhibits, shopping and travel information areas are open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cafe is open 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
