ARRESTED

Burglary Arrest: On 09/06/2015, police arrested Danny Sebastian, age 40, Dixie Plaza, in connection with the theft of a firearm from a residence.

At approximately 11:30 P.M., an officer was dispatched to a residence in Dixie Plaza in response to a burglary that had occurred earlier in the evening. Upon arrival, the officer met with the resident who reported that he had just returned home and neighbors informed him that an unknown male had entered his unsecure residence while he was away and left after a very short stay inside. Upon checking his home, the resident found that a .38 caliber handgun was missing from a bedroom dresser.

A witness who had observed the male suspect provided a description and the officer later located the suspect at the nearby home of a relative. The suspect was identified as Sebastian.

Sebastian was charged for Burglary 1st Degree and lodged in the MCDC. The stolen handgun was not found.

Theft of Identity: On 09/05/2015, police charged Travis S. Tipton, age 32, Beattyville, KY, for identity theft after he attempted to pass himself off as another to avoid arrest.

At approximately 1:30 A.M., a patrol officer observed a passenger car backed into the parking lot of Medlock’s Radiator Service, 1209 E. Main Street. Upon investigating the vehicle further, the officer found that it was occupied by a male subsequently identified as Tipton. However, Tipton supplied his cousin’s driver’s license to the officer in an attempt to conceal his identity. Much to Tipton’s chagrin, there existed a warrant for his cousin’s arrest and Tipton was taken into custody.

Tipton’s true identity was determined upon arrival at the MCDC and it was found that there existed four bench warrants for his arrest from the Lee County District Court. Three were for failure to appear and the fourth for failure to pay a fine. Furthermore, it was determined that Tipton’s driver’s license was suspended.

Tipton was charged for the following offenses:

– Theft of Identity of Another
– Driving on a Suspended License
– No Vehicle Insurance
