Drug Arrests: On 08/26/2015 Officers were called to Valero in reference to a subject in the restroom who had possibly overdosed. The subject acted very erratic, and had slurred speech and constricted pupils. A used syringe was located on the floor next to the subject. A female and a small child were also located in the parking lot of the business. She also had slurred speech and stated that she had smoked marijuana and snorted a Percocet tablet. The male subject was transported to St. Joseph Berea and released a short time later.
Officers arrested 27 year old Robert Coney of Richmond KY and 27 year old Katreena McKenzie of Richmond KY. Both subjects were charged with Public Intoxication and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. Coney was also charged with Drug Paraphernalia Possession.
Alcohol Arrest: On 08/29/2015 Officers were in the area of Candlewood Drive investigating a complaint. They came into contact with a male subject walking down the sidewalk. The subject had a strong odor of alcohol and stated that he had been drinking.
Officers arrested 35 year old Larry Kofoid of Berea KY and charged him with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place.
Drug Arrest: On 08/26/2015 Officers were called to Lakes Shell in reference to a female passed out in a vehicle by the gas pumps. They located a subject passed out in the driver seat of a vehicle with the engine running. Once she woke up, an Officer observed a yellow substance around her nostril. She stated that she snorted a Percocet and had also had her two year old son in the vehicle with her. A Percocet tablet was located in her vehicle.
Officers arrested 32 year old Kelley Wendel of Berea KY and charged her with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Public Intoxication, and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.
Theft: On 08/28/2015 Officers spoke with a complainant at the Berea Police Department who stated that his vehicle was stolen from a parking lot on Adams Street. The vehicle was valued at $500.00.
On 08/29/2015 the Berea Police Department was contacted by Officers in Arkansas who stated that the stolen vehicle had been recovered. Two subjects in the vehicle were taken into custody.
Criminal Mischief: On 08/29/2015 Officers were called to storage units in the 1000 Block of Highway 1016. The owner reported that five of the units were damaged in an attempt to pry the doors open.
Burglary: On 08/29/2015 a resident in the 100 Block of Holly Hill Drive reported that window was knocked out of their storage building and items were stolen from inside. Estimated Loss: $800.00.
