Original Release: On 09/18/2015 at 11:56pm Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Prospect Street and Forest Street in reference to a male subject lying in the roadway. They located the victim who was unresponsive and had been struck by a vehicle, but no vehicles were located in the area. The Madison County Coroner was called to the scene where the victim was pronounced deceased. An accident reconstructionist was called to the scene and the roadway was closed off for approximately three hours while evidence was collected. The victim has not been identified and the collision is still under investigation. The victim is a white male in his 70’s and was wearing bib overalls. Anyone who has any information about this incident is asked to contact the Berea Police Department or the Madison County Coroner’s Office.
09/19/2015 In reference to the hit and run collision, the victim has been identified as 71 year old Billy Croucher of Berea KY.
Update: 09/21/2015 Based on evidence recovered at the collision scene and a witness statement, we are looking for a red pickup truck with damage to front driver side of the vehicle. The vehicle will also have some rust spots. We do not have a make or model but the vehicle was last seen in the area of Big Hill Road Road minutes after the collision.
