Forgery Arrest: On 07/28/2015, police charged Bobby J. Sandlin, N. Estill Avenue, for forgery related offenses in connection with passing a number of stolen checks.
On 06/11/2015, a complainant reported to police that she had been contacted the previous day by her bank who advised her that her checking account was overdrawn. Upon further investigation, the victim found that twenty-four (24) of her personal checks had been stolen, forged, and cashed between 05/18/2015 and 06/04/2015. The resulting loss was $1105.00.
The follow-up investigation identified Sandlin as a suspect in passing the checks. Furthermore, it was established that Sandlin had been doing some work at the victim’s house during the time period the checks were stolen and cashed.
On 07/27/2015, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Sandlin, charging him for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree, 24 counts.
On 07/28/2015, Sandlin was located at his residence and taken into custody without incident. He was lodged in the MCDC.
