Bank Robbery Arrest: On 07/16/2015, police charged Eric T. Noe, age 37, W. Water Street, for robbing Chase bank.
At approx. 10:01 A.M., police were dispatched to Chase Bank, 116 W. Main Street, in response to a reported robbery. Employees reported that a white male had entered the bank, approached a teller, and delivered a note demanding money. No weapon was brandished but the robber implied that he had one. The robber had his face partially covered at the time of the robbery. Upon receiving an undisclosed amount of cash that he concealed in a backpack, the robber fled on foot through the side door of the bank that faces S. First Street. Bank employees provided a description of the robber and his clothing. Within minutes of the robbery, an RPD officer detained a male, later identified as Noe, near his apartment in the 200 block of W. Water Street, less than two blocks from the robbery scene. A preliminary check of Noe’s apartment revealed a backpack similar to that utilized by the robber. Noe was detained while officers obtained a search warrant for his residence. Upon conducting the search, officers recovered the backpack containing the stolen cash and a box cutter, and several items of clothing that matched what the robber was wearing.
Noe was charged for Robbery 1st Degree and lodged in the MCDC.
“The employees of the bank supplied crucial information to the dispatch center in a timely manner and our officers responded perfectly, locating the suspect in a matter of minutes. It was a job well done by all,” remarked RPD Chief Larry R. Brock.
