Thumbelisa Williams, age 86, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at St. Joseph Berea Hospital. A native of Letcher County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Conley and Bettie Frazier Jones.
Mrs. Williams was a retired employee of Parker Seal with 38 years of service, and a member of the Liberty Avenue Baptist Church. She loved to crochet, raise flower and vegetable gardens, and to travel, especially fishing trips to Florida.
Mrs. Williams is survived by: her husband who she married on October 25, 1946, Volley A. Williams of Berea; her son: Roger Williams of Berea; her daughters: Ellen Shirley (Jack) of Brownstown, Indiana, Connie Frost (Richard) of Seymour, Indiana; her sister: Sarah Tormoehlen of Brownstown, Indiana; her grandchildren: Jennifer Mellencamp, Beverly Bragg, Bridget Robinson, and Blake Shirley; her great-grandchildren: Brock Bragg, and Delaney Robinson. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and seven sisters.
Funeral services for Mrs. Williams will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday July 25th at the Davis & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Felty and Bill Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Berea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Elsie R. Centers
Elsie R. Centers, 90, mother of Doug Centers, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at the Terrace in Berea. Elsie was born in Jessamine County to the late Horace and Mary Stinnett Hager.
Elsie had been employed by Westinghouse in Richmond and Walmart in Berea. She was a member of the Calvary Apostolic Church.
Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Harvey Hager, Jeanette Neeley, and David Hager.
Elsie is survived by: her son, Doug (Brenda) Centers, of Berea; her sisters, Ethel Anglin, of Berea, Evelyn Ingram, of Berea, and Dorene Matthews, of Indiana; her grandsons, Keith, Tim, Greg, Mark and Steve Centers, all of Berea; eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Lakes Funeral Home Berea with Rev. Jimmy Chrisman officiating, burial will be in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, July 23, 2015, from 6-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be great-grandchildren.
Kenneth Earl Nayles
Kenneth Earl Nayles (Super Pa) 77 of Berea, KY went home to be with the Lord July 18, 2015 in Lexington, KY. He was born April 29, 1938 in Jelico, TN to the late Edgar Jason and Della Irene Nayles.
He was preceeded in death by his sisters Ruth Barnett (Fred) and Evelyn (Beecher) Combs, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Hallie and Jack Williams his brother-in-law Dickie Joe Williams, as well as a special uncle Manard Jones.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan, his sister Glenna Nayles, his brother Roland Nayles, his only son, Rodney Nayles. His grandchildren, Jared Nayles, Kara (Sam) Willemsen, and Jason Nayles and their mother Gina, great-grandchildren, Cash and Bentley Willemsen, and Jasmin Nayles. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, July 22, 2015 at Woodland Cemetery, 118 Woodland Ave. Dayton, OH 45409. Rev. Saunders will be officiating. Please meet at the front entrance and wait for the escort.

Betty Lou Isaacs
Betty Lou Isaacs, 77, of Waco, the wife of Elmer Donald Isaacs, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Survivors include her son, Don Isaacs.

Nancy Fizer Poynter
Nancy Fizer Poynter, 82, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center after a long illness. Born in Ashland, KY, to Carl G. and Vivian Jordan Fizer in 1933, she moved to Richmond in 1958 with her husband, Robert (Bob) Poynter, whom she married in 1953.
With her husband, Nancy raised five daughters and eventually welcomed 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; she delighted in her big family and loved their many get-togethers, trips, and holiday celebrations. She was an active member of Ashland Baptist Church in Madison County.
Nancy is survived by her children, Vivian Bowles (Doyle), Betsy Lasslo (Steve), Robin Whitaker (Steve), and Kay Fuson (Patrick); her grandchildren, Chad Lasslo (Julie), Sarah Blomeley (Matthew), Travis Lasslo (Jamie), Seth Bowles (Beth), John Whitaker (Jessica), Evan Bowles (Kim Costanza), Julie Lasslo, Jacob Whitaker, Josh Arthur (Brittany), Kelcey Duerson, Katelyn Duerson, Hannah Fuson, and Keri Duerson; and her great-grandchildren, Zachary Lasslo, Sarah Lasslo, Harper Whitaker, Chloe Lasslo, Nathan Blomeley, and Valerie Bowles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Poynter; her daughter, Dianne Duerson (Jeff); her brother, Carl Fizer; and her sister, Lois Hope Mead. Nancy will be remembered for her hospitality, her beautiful soprano, her affinity for the beach, her thirst for peach water, her active mind, her waffles and cinnamon rolls and potato salad, her sense of humor, her fervent desire to share the Gospel, and her enormous love for family and friends. Her whole being was shaped by her faith; when asked at the end of her life what advice she would give others, she replied simply, “Love the Lord, and love each other.” That love is the legacy she leaves behind.
Visitation will be 5 – 9 PM Monday, July 27, 2015 at Ashland Avenue Baptist Church on West Reynolds Road in Lexington. The funeral service will take place 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Ashland Avenue Baptist Church in Lexington, with burial to follow at Madison Memorial Gardens, Richmond.
Chad Lasslo, Travis Lasslo, Seth Bowles, Evan Bowles, John Whitaker, Jacob Whitaker, and Josh Arthur will serve as pallbearers. Doyle Bowles, Steve Lasslo, Jeff Duerson, Steve Whitaker, Patrick Fuson, Bill Earnest, and Scott Pierce will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Edith Mae Durham
Edith Mae Warmouth Newby Broaddus Durham, 72, of Richmond, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at Baptist Health – Richmond. She was born September 23, 1942, in Madison County to Christine Naylor Warmouth and the late Clayton Warmouth.
Edith was a retired Walmart associate and she attended Corinth Christian Church. She was an avid bingo fan and loved playing at the Waco Bingo Hall, with her many bingo buddies.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Chester Durham, Edward Morton Broaddus and Owen Newby, and a grandson, Dylan Newby.
In addition to her mother, Christine, survivors include her sons, Jim Newby (and special friend Laura Helvey) and Marty Broaddus (and Amber) both of Richmond; her daughter, Debbie Brown (Don) of Atlanta, Georgia; her sister Linda Howard (Rick) of Kirksville,; three grandchildren, Kristin Brown, Rachel and Renee Brown; four great-grandchildren, Cameron Caccamo, Brielle Hilton, Alison Brown, and Ella Barnes; her best friend, Joan Smith and her beloved dogs, Bingo and Socks.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. David Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ethel May Mullins
Ethel May Faw Mullins, 90, of Berea, the wife of Dewey A. Mullins, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at Baptist Health – Richmond. She was born December 11, 1924 at Waynesburg, Kentucky, to Jacob R. and Chessie Burgess Faw, both of whom preceded her in death.
She married her childhood sweetheart, Dewey Arnold Mullins in 1941.
Their only son, Donald Allan Mullins and his wife Susan survives, along with two grandchildren, Penny Mullins and Pamela Aldridge (and husband, Mark) and great grandchildren, Travis Votaw, Katie and Janie Aldridge. She also leaves a brother, Rev. Wiley B. and Geneva Faw of Waynesburg, an Aunt Evazella Parsons, of West Jefferson, NC, an Uncle Edward Burgess of Mountain City, TN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by one great grandson, Dustin Votaw and brother, Clifford Faw.
Ethel May graduated from Waynesburg High School and the University of Kentucky College of Arts & Science with an AB degree and from the college of LS with her Masters in Library Science.
In 1959 she went to work at the VA Hospital in Lexington as Librarian. She retired from the Veterans Administration in 1986 as Chief of Library Science for two division hospitals. In 1987, her mother, Chessie Faw came to live with her until her death in 2002.
Ethel was a member of Hayes Fork Baptist Church at Kingston and a former member of Porter Memorial Baptist Church in Lexington for many years and Olive Baptist Church in Waynesburg. She was a board member of the Homemakers of the Madison County, a member of the American Library Association, the Medical Library Association and NARF.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2015 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with Rev. Sam Smith and Rev. Vincent Carman officiating. Visitation will be from 5 – 9 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home.
A service will also be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Olive Baptist Church in Waynesburg, with the burial follow in the church cemetery.
She was outstanding in life and will be missed by all who knew her.
Pastor Dillard Cole, 70, Noblesville, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015, at Community Hospital of Anderson following a six month illness. He was born on April 25, 1945, in Richmond, Kentucky to Thomas and Leola (King) Cole.
Dillard had been a Baptist minister for 54 years and was currently serving as pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church in Lapel and before that he served at Kennard Baptist Church for 17 years. He enjoyed being outdoors especially fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Ann (Huff) Cole; one son, John (wife, Suzanne) Cole of Fishers; one granddaughter, Lillian Grace Cole; two brothers, Ray (wife, Joyce) Cole of Lexington, KY and Harold (wife, Jeannie) Cole of Berea, KY; three sisters, Mary Lee (husband, Bobby) Conner of Richmond, KY, Kathy Lowery of Richmond, KY, and Beverly (husband, Jerry) Gumm of Lexington, KY; several aunts; and many nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Roy, Tom, Jr., and Homer Cole.
A Funeral services in Richmond will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until 1:00 p.m. at the the Funeral Home.

Jimmy Lee Daff
Jimmy Lee Daff, 51, of Richmond, the son of Shelby Jean Daff Frazier, passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at his home. He was born, October 24, 1963 in Richmond, Kentucky.
He was a former employee of Nacco in Madison County. Jimmy Lee, who was of the Baptist faith, was an avid Nascar racing fan.
In addition to his mother, Shelby Jean, survivors include one uncle, Michael Daff (Brenda) of Richmond; his aunt, Mary Daff and several cousins, Marcus Daff, Deidre Daff Lambeth, Bill Daff, Theresa McIntosh, Rebecca Daff, Michael Harold Daff and Georgia Daff. He was preceded in death by an uncle, Harold Daff (Jr.)
A double service for Jimmy Lee and his mother Shelby Jean, who passed away July 21, 2015 will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with Bro. Jim Muncie officiating. Visitation will be 6 – 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A private interment will be held later.

Shelby Frazier, 72, of Richmond, passed away suddenly Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Baptist Health – Richmond. She was born November 4, 1942, in Carthiage Junction, Tennessee to Harold L. Daff, Sr. and Esther Mae Noe Daff, both of whom preceded her in death.
She was recently preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Lee Daff and had also been predeceased by a brother, Harold Daff, Jr.
She had been an employee of Big K and Walmart for 15 years and was last employed as a teacher at “The Growing Place”. Shelby Jean was most recently member of Waco Baptist Church.
Survivors include her brother, Michael A. Daff (Brenda) of Richmond; sister-in-law, Mary Daff and several Nieces and nephews, Marcus Daff, Deidre Daff Lambeth, Bill Daff, Theresa McIntosh, Rebecca Daff, Michael Harold Daff and Georgia Daff.

Christine Blakeman, 89, widow of Gilbert M. Blakeman, of Richmond, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington. Mrs. Blakeman was born on December 16, 1925 in Lancaster, KY to the late Amon and Lucille Davis Hall.
She was a homemaker, and loved her flowers, gardening and meeting people. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by: two daughters, Betty Ann Houghton (John L.), of Richmond, and Sharon Rose Peterson (Randall), of Oviedo, FL; three grandchildren: Lori L. Houghton, Lindsey R. Grice (Jeffery) and Jessica E. Peralta (Bryan); three great-grandchildren: Amelia S. Grice, Izabel R. Peralta and Ashton Peralta; three brothers: Dan Hall (Dorothy), Roy C. Hall (Carol) and Virgil Hall, all of Lancaster; as well as many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by: five brothers; Achie, Calvin, Frank, Jesse and Hubert Hall; and three sisters: Ethel Carrier, Mary Morrow and Letha Glenn.

William Pace Jr.
Mr. William Pace Jr, age 67 of Mt. Vernon, died Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital. He was born in Garrard Co., KY on July 11, 1948 the son of William, Sr. and Laura Elizabeth Childress Pace.
He was an employee of Burger King and attended McNew Chapel Baptist Church.
He is survived by a brother, Phillip Pace of Irvine; and four sisters, Rose Robinson and husband Daniel of Mt. Vernon, Shirley Howard and husband Christopher of Richmond, Mary Hensley of Orlando, and Brenda Thomas of Brodhead.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lee Pace, Paul Pace, and Darrell Wren.
Visitation will be at 6 PM Thursday, July 23 at McNew Chapel Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at 12 PM Friday, July 24 at the Church. Interment will follow at the Pilot Knob Cemetery.

Oliver Elwood Gould
Oliver Elwood Gould, age 80, of North Court Street in Irvine, passed away Saturday at the Baptist Health Richmond Hospital after a short illness. He was born April 24, 1935, in Estill County, the son of the late Henry Nathan and Fannie Jo Richardson Gould.
He retired from Southwestern Life Insurance Company and was a member of the First Christian Church. He graduated from the American College of Life Insurance with a C.L.U. and had lived in Estill County most of his life. He was a member and Former Master of the Masonic Lodge and a former member of the Lions Club and the Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by His Wife Anna Genevieve Flynn Gould, 1 Daughter: Rhonda Michelle Mitchell (Forest Gene Jr.) of Louisiana, 1 Son: Eric Todd Gould (Trish) of Irvine, 1 Sister: Betty Lou Lane (George) of Irvine, 1 Brother: Harold Gould (Dixie)of Winchester, 4 Grandchildren: Jordan Wade Mitchell, Tyler Clay Mitchell, Eric Blake Gould and Nathan Oliver Gould.
He was preceded in death by a Step Brother, Kelly Morefield.

Desman E. Chappell
Desman E. Chappell was born May 25, 1943 in Jackson County and departed this life Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, being 72 years of age. He was the son of the late Charley & Faye (Moore) Chappell.
Desman is survived by his wife, Janet Chappell of McKee; one daughter, Lisa Robbins and husband Lonnie of Annville and step daughter, Vickie Berry and husband Johnny of McKee. He is also survived by the following siblings, Junior Chappell and wife Barbara of Tyner, Dale Chappell and wife Judy of Welchburg, Joe Chappell and wife Jennifer of Corbin, Loretta Tyree of Tyner, Delorus Sexton and husband Morton of Annville, Zoe Hurley and husband Marvin of East Berstadt and Gazetti Callahan of Marion, OH. Desman was blessed with four special grandchildren, David Kelly of Annville, Jessica, Joshua & Johnathan Berry of McKee and by a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Desman was also preceded in death by his son, David Chappell; brother, Michael Chappell and sister, Marilyn Ruth Lewis.
Desman was of the Baptist Faith.

Annette Turner was born June 9, 1936 in Jackson County and departed this life Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, being 79 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Delbert & Myrtle (Murphy) Rose.
Annette is survived by her husband, Finley Turner of McKee and by two sons, Ben (Sandy) Morris of Hamilton, OH and Bob Morris of McKee. She is also survived by two brothers, Virgil Rose of McKee and Carl (Veronda) Rose of McKee and by seven sisters, Margaret Spivey of Wilkinson, IN, Alpha Turner of McKee, Mabel Turner of Berea, Ilean Harrison of Georgetown, Evelyne Marcum of Berea, Geraldine Isaacs of McKee and Mildred Moore of McKee. Annette was blessed with two grandsons, Daniel (Krista) Morris of Richmond and Jared Morris of Hamilton, OH and by two great grandchildren, Brayden Morris and Madelyn Morris both of Richmond.
In addition to her parents, Annette was also preceded in death by her first husband and father of her sons, Dewey Morris and by two brothers, Llloyd Rose and Vester Rose.

Inez Jonelle Hudson
Inez Jonelle (Rader) Hudson was born September 16, 1989 in Lexington and departed this life Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, being 25 years of age. She was the daughter of Herman Ralph Rader Jr. of Tyner and Julia (McCowan) Sparks of McKee.
In addition to her parents, Inez is survived by her loving husband, James Hudson of Tyner and her precious daughter, Aliyah Bae Hudson of Tyner. Other survivors include her brother, Walt Rader and wife Latosha Hacker Rader of McKee; step father, Jim Sparks of McKee, step mother, Teresa Rader of Tyner and two step brothers, Brian Sparks and wife Tammy of Berea and John Ryan Sparks and wife Ashley of Richmond. Inez was blessed with two nieces, Paisley Rader and Kalyn Sparks and by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Inez was a member of the McKee Baptist Church and was employed at McKee Save A Lot.
