Berea Police Report July 8, 2015

ARRESTED

DUI/Drug Arrest: On 07/04/2015 a traffic stop was conducted on I-75 after the vehicle crossed over the center line several times. The driver of the vehicle had slurred speech and stated that she had taken numerous medications. A passenger in the vehicle was observed attempting to hide a pill bottle in the glove box. Inside of the vehicle they located two bottles of Gabapentin and one Clonazepam tablet.

Officers arrested 51 year old Delina Mayes of Berea KY and 50 year old Peggy Langford of Harrogate TN. Mayes was charged with Operating A Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense and Illegal Possession of a Legend Drug. Langford was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and Illegal Possession of a Legend Drug.

Wanton Endangerment: On 07/05/2015 Officers were called to Richmond Road in reference to a subject who had pointed a firearm at a vehicle while driving down the road. The vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted on Forest Street. The subject did have a loaded firearm in his vehicle and both witnesses were able to describe it.

Officers arrested 62 year Alexander Thompson of Berea KY and charged him with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree.

Shoplifting Arrest: On 07/04/2015 Walmart employees observed a male and female concealing items in a purse. When Officers arrived the male subject had left the store and they made contact with the female. The total value of the merchandise was $68.84.

Officers arrested 32 year old Tabitha Stepp of Irvine KY and charged her with Theft By Unlawful Taking Shoplifting.

Drug Arrest: On 07/03/2015 Officers were called to the Berea Skate Park to locate two subjects in reference to a welfare check. The two subjects were located in a vehicle and Officers learned that one of them had an active arrest warrant. Inside of the vehicle they located two bags of Marijuana and a prescription pill bottle containing Hydrocodone. The pill bottle did not belong to the subject and Officers learned that he had taken it from someone. He also had a needle in his pants pocket.

Officers arrested 31 year old Brian Hatcher of Berea KY and charged him with the following…

-Theft of Controlled Substance
-Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree
-Possession of Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia Possession

DUI Arrest: On 07/03/2015 Officers were called to Redi Mart on Paint Lick Road in reference to a female subject under the influence. When they arrived the clerk told them that the subject had already left in a gray vehicle. The vehicle was located on Mount Vernon Road and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver of the vehicle had a suspended license as well as an active arrest warrant. The subject appeared to be under the influence and refused to exit the vehicle. She was eventually was removed from the vehicle and placed under arrest.

Officers charged 23 year old Kacey Neeley of Berea KY with several traffic offenses as well as the following…

-Operating on a Suspended Operators License
-Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 3rd Offense
-Resisting Arrest
-Drug Paraphernalia Possession
-Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree

Drug Arrest: On 07/01/2015 Officers were at the Dollar Store on Prince Royal Drive and observed a vehicle parked on a yellow curb. The registered owner of the vehicle had an active arrest warrant and he was located inside of the store. In his pants pocket the subject had a Marijuana cigarette and half of an Oxycodone tablet.

Officers arrested 37 year old Michael Cook of Berea KY and charged him with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree.

Shoplifting Arrest: On 07/01/2015 Walmart employees observed a female conceal several items in her purse before leaving the store.

Officers arrested 43 year old Christy Lewis of Berea KY and charged her with Theft By Unlawful Taking Shoplifting. The total value of the merchandise was $75.49.

Shoplifting Arrest: On 06/30/2015 Officers were called to Walmart in reference to a shoplifter that ran away from the store. He was located a short distance away and had discarded some stolen items at Sun Tan City. Walmart employees stated that the subject took items from the shelf and returned them to customer service for a gift card. He also took other items from store and left without attempting to pay for them.

Officers arrested 27 year old Shawn Holt of Annville KY and charged him with Theft By Unlawful Taking Shoplifting.
