Kentucky has long been recognized for its musical background – including greats such as the Everly Brothers, Bill Monroe, Merle Travis, Loretta Lynn, and Keith Whitley. The list goes on and on. Day after day, music rings from the hills and hollers all across the Bluegrass state, as tomorrow’s legends prepare for greatness. Talent abounds here – there’s certainly ‘something in the water.’
Tim Farmer is a twenty-year veteran of Kentucky television. This Emmy award-winning host has travelled the Commonwealth looking for stories while hosting ‘Kentucky Afield,’ the longest running outdoor show in the nation. Three years ago, Tim took his love of cooking, gardening, canning, preparing meats, etc. to the airwaves with ‘Tim Farmer’s Country Kitchen.’ This outstanding production has become one of the most popular shows on KET with over 5 million viewers.
While traveling, Farmer found musical talent around every turn on the roads of Kentucky. It seemed to him that the overwhelming number of folks with musical gifts should have an outlet so that others could share in their musical gifts. A seed was planted, and ‘Tim Farmer’s Homemade Jam’ was born. The only problem was finding ‘that right spot’ with history, grace, and integrity, where upcoming talents could be best showcased. Almost by accident, Tim’s travels led him to the Lancaster Grand Theatre in Lancaster, Kentucky, and the 1925 restored treasure spoke to him. Loudly!
The Lancaster Grand Theatre is proud to be the chosen site for these not-to-be-missed live performances!
