Murders: On June 27, 2014, Karen Rollins Simpson and Avery “Boochie” Evans were found murdered in their residence at 109 Valley Street in Richmond, KY. The Richmond Police Department is offering a $5,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this crime. Wanton Endangerment Arrest: On 06/23/2015, police charged Eric C. Spencer, age 48, Valley Street, for wanton endangerment after he brandished a firearm during a domestic dispute.

At approximately 10:00 P.M., officers were dispatched to Spencer’s residence to investigate a disturbance involving a firearm. Upon arrival, officers learned that Spencer, his girlfriend, and his girlfriend’s son were involved in an argument that turned physical. During the altercation, Spencer shoved his girlfriend to the floor, causing minor injuries to her arms. Shortly thereafter, the girlfriend and her son left the residence. When the girlfriend returned to the residence, Spencer pointed a handgun at her as she entered. A firearm was recovered from the residence.

Spencer was charged for Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree and Assault 4th Degree and lodged in the MCDC.

Vandalism Charges: On 06/26/2015, police charged Julia Wright, age 22, Pineur Drive, for damage caused to a vehicle in February 2015.

On 02/13/2015, a resident in the 1100 block of Richmond Green reported that her vehicle had been damaged during the overnight hours by being “keyed” on both sides and having a derogatory word etched into each side. Wright was identified as a suspect in the crime. The damage to the vehicle was estimated at $1500.00.

On 06/26/2015, the investigating officer located and interviewed Wright, after which she was charged for Criminal Mischief 1st Degree and lodged in the MCDC.

Drug Arrest: On 06/26/2015, police charged Delilah J. Thomas, age 32, Oak Street, for several drug offenses following a search of her home.

During the late evening hours, officers investigating suspected drug trafficking activity conducted a search of Thomas’s residence. During the course of the search, officers discovered approximately five grams of methamphetamine, a piece of Suboxone, a small amount of marijuana, scales, plastic baggies, and other drug paraphernalia. Thomas was charged for the following offenses and lodged in the MCDC:

– Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st degree
– Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree
– Possession of Marijuana
– Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Drug Charges: On 06/27/2015, police charged James F. Lear, age 40, Meadows Way, Paint Lick, for drug offenses after investigating a complaint.

At approximately 3:50 P.M., an officer was dispatched to the area of 401 Smith Village to investigate a complaint of unlawful drug activity occurring at that location. Upon arrival, the officer encountered Lear in a vehicle with another person. During the course of the contact, the officer searched Lear’s vehicle and discovered a small amount of methamphetamine and a Suboxone strip inside Lear’s wallet along with five baggies of methamphetamine inside a small grocery bag. Lear was taken into custody and lodged in the MCDC, charged for the following offenses:

– Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree
– Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree
– Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Theft from Business: Reported 06/23/2015. Samuels Jewelers, Richmond Mall. Employees reported that two males entered the store and engaged both clerks regarding jewelry. One was asking about necklaces and the other about rings and earrings. During the course of the contact, one of the males looked at several rings and was looking at several rings at one time. When the two men left, the employees checked their inventory list and found two rings were missing. The stolen items were described as follows:

1) A yellow gold anniversary ring with a three diamond setting, valued at $9499.00
2) A yellow gold anniversary band, valued at $1999.00

The suspects were described as follows:

1) Black male, 6’0”, stocky build, wearing a white button-up shirt and blue jeans.
Black male, 6’4”, stocky build, wearing a salmon colored shirt, plaid shorts, and a khaki fishing hat.
