State Senator Jared Carpenter (R-Berea) was recently awarded the 3rd Annual Chamber MVP Award from the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. Sen. Carpenter was recognized, along with 10 other legislators, for his strong support of the business community.
“This legislative session was tough on Kentucky businesses, but these legislators stood by the business community voting for and championing the issues that matter most to employers throughout the state,” said Dave Adkisson, Kentucky Chamber president and CEO.
Senator Carpenter received the award, a commemorative Louisville slugger bat, at a recent Richmond Chamber of Commerce luncheon at Eastern Kentucky University. The Chamber selects legislators who have not only an outstanding business-oriented voting record, but actively go out of their way, including reaching outside party lines, to support or oppose an issue critical to the business climate of Kentucky.
“Promoting and fostering a healthy business community is critical to creating jobs for our citizens,” said Carpenter. “I am honored to receive this recognition from the Kentucky Chamber and will continue to do what I can to make our state as business friendly as possible.”
Note: Senator Jared Carpenter (R-Berea) is Chairman of the Natural Resources and Energy Committee, Vice-Chairman of the Banking and Insurance Committee, and a member of the Education Committee. He represents the 34th District including Madison and Rockcastle Counties and the southern portion of Fayette County.
