Madison County Emergency Management Agency will receive a gift of a forklift from NACCO Materials Handling Group in Berea, Kentucky. The award-winning facility manufactures lift trucks and aftermarket parts marketed globally under the Hyster® and Yale® brand names.
The forklift, which will be used on a regular basis for management of materials in the agency’s storage facility, will be presented at NAACO’s Berea location at 2200 Menelaus Road on Thursday, October 24th at 1:30 p.m.
In the event of an emergency in the county, the forklift will be a valuable asset. Depending on the nature of a specific emergency, the forklift could potentially be used in moving resources for either reception or distribution.
“NACCO Materials Handling Group has been a great community partner, especially as a supporter of first responders and Emergency Management. This quality forklift will be extremely useful to Madison County on a day-to-day basis, but especially if multiple resources need to be moved or distributed in a timely manner,” said Madison County Emergency Management Agency Director Carl Richards.
“It can definitely increase speed of response of resource management during an emergency,” said Richards.
The Madison County Emergency Management Agency/ Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program is dedicated to the safety of the residents of Madison County through support of professional emergency response and in promotion and education of emergency preparedness to the community.
