U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell announced the United States Senate has approved the nomination of Dr. Michael W. Hail, a Morehead State University Professor, to serve on the Board of Trustees of the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation. Dr. Hail was recommended for the position by Senator McConnell.
Dr. Hail is currently an Associate Professor of Government in the Institute for Regional Analysis and Public Policy at Morehead State University. He is a 1989 graduate of Centre College, M.A. in 1992 at Eastern Kentucky University, and received his Ph.D. from the University of Delaware.
“I applaud Dr. Hail for being confirmed by the United States Senate. The Morehead University professor is a strong advocate for higher education in Kentucky and I am confident that he will make us all proud,” Senator McConnell said.
The Harry S. Truman Scholarship is a federal scholarship program for U.S. college juniors interested in public service. Congress created the scholarship in 1975, in honor of the 33rd president of the United States.
