Federal Shutdown Affects Sportsman in KY

Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources have been notified by federal agencies with recreation sites in Kentucky that developed recreation facilities, including some boat ramps, will be closed due to the federal government shutdown; closed areas should be signed accordingly.

Boat ramps on federal areas that are operated by state parks will remain open. Daniel Boone National Forest is open for hunting under applicable regulations. Land Between the Lakes is open to hunting and fishing but developed facilities will be closed, thus permits will not be sold on site during the shutdown. Big South Fork is totally closed. Hidden Valley Training Area in Powell Co. is state owned and will remain open.
