Shirley’s works are included in many public and private collections throughout Kentucky. Growing up in the rural community of Fern Creek outside Louisville, Shirley Mack Jeter developed a love of nature and a love of art. These two loves resulted in a fine arts degree from the University of Kentucky. While raising a family of three daughters Shirley and her husband, Tom, began to exhibit her artwork at outdoor art fairs on the weekends. They ultimately purchased a small gift shop specializing in quality handcrafted items which rendered them too busy to continue exhibiting at fairs. Shirley fuels her artistic nature by designing and producing personalized artwork for her customers.
After ten years Shirley decided to concentrate exclusively on watercolor paintings. She was selected as a member of the Kentucky Arts Council Platinum 10 groups which provide special training in marketing and sales for selected artists and craftsmen. In 2012 Shirley added acrylic canvasses to her portfolio.
