Jessica Lynn Gentry
Jessica Lynn Gentry, age 33, of Dogwood Circle, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012, in Richmond.
Jessica was born in Oneida, Tennessee to Charles Edward Huckeby and Gloria Byrd Chambers.
She is survived by her husband Sean Gentry, one son Jorden Harris, one step daughter Sahara Gentry, three sisters Chasity Mills and husband Jason of IN, Jennifer Terry of TN and Tamara Huckeby of TN, 7 nieces Cheyann, Emmie, Kassie, Skye, Adrienne, Autumn and Peyton and one nephew Hayden. Many extended family members and friends also survive Jessica.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2012, at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Livingood officiating. Visitation will be from 1-3 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Libby Hammons age 75, of Mt.Vernon passed away Wednesday December 12th, 2012 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. She was born on June 16th, 1937 in London, KY the daughter of the late Tommy and Mollie Johnson Gay. She was retired legal secretary, and was a member of the Berea Baptist Church.
Survivors are: her husband; James Earl Hammons of Mt.Vernon. Two sons; Earl Lewis Hammons of Glasgow, KY, and Bobby Hammons of Plymouth, OH. Two daughters; Roxanne Hammond of Mt.Vernon, and Lynnell Fields Johnson of London, KY. Two brothers; Thomas Sheridan Gay of Bucyrus, OH, and Robert E. Gay of Soddy Daisy, TN. Two sisters; Mrs. Linda Simmons, and Mrs. Rosa Lee Jasper both of London, KY. Nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren also survive.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 PM Thursday December 13, 2012 at Cox Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM Friday December 14, 2012 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Cresthaven Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Hammond, Adam Hammons, Steven Dailey, Adam Clark, Bryan Hamilton, and Earl Hammons.

Tressie Caudill, age 75, of Berea, died Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. He was born in Letcher County to the late James A. and Nora Sturgill Caudill. Mr. Caudill was a veteran of the United States Air Force and the United States Army, serving during the Viet Nam War.
Mr. Caudill is survived by: his wife, Alice Crase Caudill of Berea; his daughter, Lisa Holly (Greg) of Berea; his son, Wayne Caudill (Brenda) of Berea; his brothers, James Caudill of Winchester, Ky., Johnny Caudill of Detroit, Michigan; his sister, Joyce Miles of Whitesburg; and his grandchildren, Chad, Matt, Jessica, Julia, and Jenny.
Funeral services for Mr. Caudill will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Davis & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Willie Crase, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens with military honors. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Michael Lee Adkins
Michael Lee Adkins, age 67, of Berea, died Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington. He was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky and was a painter by trade.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Adkins of Berea, and a brother, Phillip McDowell of Michigan.
No services or visitation are scheduled. Davis & Powell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Gordon Lewis Miller
Gordon Lewis Miller, age 61, of Berea, died Friday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He was a native of Madison County, a farmer, mechanic, and worked in construction. He loved tractor pulls, gardening, fishing, and working with his hands, especially with wood.
Mr. Miller is survived by: his wife, Faye Miller of Berea; his sons: Everrett Lewis (Carla) Miller of Nicholasville, William Preston (Sunshine) Miller, Leonard Earl Miller and Robert Wayne Miller, all of Berea; his sister: Mattie (Wallace) Coffey of Berea; his brother: William Hayes (Gena) Dooley of Mt. Vernon. 6 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, 4 great nieces and 4 great nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Martha Miller Dooley.
Funeral services for Mr. Miller will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Davis & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Powell and Bro. Cecil Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Miller Cemetery in Rockcastle Co. Visitation will be from 5-10 p.m. Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Levi Coffey, Preston Miller, Lewis Miller, Virgil Cain, J. C. Powell and Kenny Miller.
Carolyn Isaacs age 52 of Moran Summit Road, passed away Friday at Central Baptist Hospital. Carolyn was born in Jackson County to the late Herman and Allie Marcum Sparks. She was a homemaker and worked on the farm.
She is survived by her husband Hershel Isaacs, two daughters Michelle Isaacs and Alisha Isaacs, 3 grandchildren Alana Mitchell, Arianna Pittman and Marcus Isaacs IV, seven siblings Lester Sparks, Homer Sparks, Roy Sparks, Fred Sparks, Frieda Bolton, Eleanor Land and Mary Abner.
In addition to her parents Carolyn was also preceded in death by her siblings Barbara McKinney, Jerry Sparks, Eugene Sparks, Wes Sparks and Fletcher Sparks.
Funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday December 18, 2012 at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilot Knob Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6-9 pm at the funeral home.

BEREA — Edith Joyce Farriss, 76, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Baptist Health-Richmond. Arrangements are incomplete at the Davis & Powell Funeral Home in Berea.
John David Baker
John David “J.D.” Baker, 57, passed away December 14, 2012. Born August 28, 1955, he was a son of Bonnie Baker Cox and the late George David Baker.
He was a 1973 graduate of Franklin County High School and a 1983 graduate of EKU, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in communications. J.D. was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, was a Marine Corps veteran and worked over 20 years at Okonite Cable.
Other than his father, he is preceded in death by his brother, Russell Gary Cox, and his stepfather Russell Cox Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Bonnie Baker Cox; sister, Gayle Vice (Terry); niece Kimberly Tullar; nephew David Tullar; many cousins, aunts and uncles; and special friends, Mike Meighan (Linda) and Ed Oakes (Becky).
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Kerr Bros. on Harrodsburg Road officiated by Bro. James Herd with burial in Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after noon Monday at the funeral home.

RICHMOND — Keith York, 42, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, in the University of Kentucky Medical Center, in Lexington. He was born Jan. 4, 1970, in Madison County to Hugh and Wilma Bowlin York, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a welder and carpenter by trade and of the non-denominational faith.
Keith is survived by two daughters, Brittany Michelle Unthank of Richmond and Kaitlyn Isaacs of Berea; two brothers, Steven L. York (Bonnie) and Kelby Hightower (Jennifer); one step-sister, Tammy Bowlin; three step-brothers, Sammy Hackler, Mike Bowlin and Joe Bowlin, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services for Keith will be held at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with Bro. Vester Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 – 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Rick Short, Rodney Johnson, Roy Hoskins, Bill Wright and David Wright.
Garry Hale, 64, of Doe Creek Road in Irvine, KY, husband of Connie Sue Ackley Hale, passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 at his home. Garry was born in Estill County on April 18, 1948, to the late Buddy and Effie Mae Sparks Hale.
He was a retired First Class Petty Officer with the U.S. Navy and attended the Irvine Free Methodist Church.
Other than his loving wife, Connie, he is survived by a son, Shaun (Kim) Hale of Irvine, KY; 2 daughters, Veronica (Nathan) Burns of Cincinnati, OH and Venessa Hale of Irvine, Ky; 3 brothers, Bev (Peggy) Hale and Phillip (Joyce) Hale, both of Richmond, KY and Buddy Bob (Janie) Hale of Irvine, KY; one sister, Judy Hackworth of Richmond, KY. Garry is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Kayla Burns, Nick Burns, Erika Burns, Mia Hale, Ashton Hale, Ava Hale and Harper Hale.
Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Past or Christopher R. Carlyle and Rev. Adina Headley officiating. RICHMOND — Ronnie Dale Wolfinbarger, 62, of Richmond, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012, in his home. Ronnie was born on November 7, 1950, in Madison County and was the son of Mary Gray and Tracy Wolfinbarger.
Ronnie worked in construction and was a Son of the American Legion and of the Holiness faith.
He is survived by his two sons, Tracy Edward Wolfinbarger of Richmond and Billy Dale Wolfinbarger of Lexington; two daughters, Deborah Kay Rose and Michell Rose Turner (Roger), both of Richmond; a special friend Cassie.
He is also survived by two brothers, Kenneth Wolfinbarger and Bobby Wolfinbarger, both of Richmond; five grandchildren: Lori, Keaton, Roger Dale, Dallas and Sky; several nieces and nephews, family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Otha Wolfinbarger, and one sister, Jean Robinson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2012, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Masters officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

RICHMOND — Dean Gant Johnson, widow of Jesse Wade Johnson, departed this life December 10, 2012, in North Carolina. Dean was born in Williamsburg, Ky.
She is survived by a sister, Virginia Gant Duncan of Melbourne, Fla.; a brother, Harold Lewis Gant of Corbin, Ky.; a grandson, Forrest Wade Frazier and his wife Jayne and great-grandsons Jess and Maxwell, all of Charlotte, N.C.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2012, at the Oldham Roberts and Powell Funeral Home. The service to celebrate Mrs. Johnson’s life will be conducted on Saturday, December 15, 2012, in the chapel at Oldham, Roberts and Powell funeral home at 11 a.m. with burial immediately following at the Richmond Cemetery.

Judith Ann “Judy” Snyder, of Richmond, passed away in her home Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012. She was born March 17, 1944, in Madison County to Harlan and Virginia Ross Snyder, both of whom preceded her in death. Judy was of the Baptist faith and was a retired beautician.
She is survived by her brother, Don Snyder (Carolyn) of Richmond and sisters, Linda Snyder Rookard and Karen Snyder Garrett. She also leaves her nieces and nephews, Donna Snyder Grubb, Elizabeth Snyder Ross, Gary Snyder, Jason Rookard, Amber Garrett Cottrell, Jessica Garrett Barker, Joshua Garrett and Loren Garrett.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Carolyn Snyder.

Junior Northern, 60, of Berea, died Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at U.K. Medical Center. He was a life-long resident of Berea, born April 13, 1952, and was a self-employed concrete construction worker.
Survivors include his wife Angela Hensley Northern; 8 children, Charles Northern, Tonya Faye Handshoe, Christopher Northern, Charles Scott Northern, Curtis Northern, Katrina Northern, Cody Northern, Kyle Northern; his father, Charlie Northern; 6 siblings, Bonnie Foster, Harold Northern, Leo Northern, Sharline Grissam, Henry Ellis Northern, Judy Wells; 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Gadd Northern and four brothers, James, Roy, Lloyd and Russell.

Helen Baxter Jennings, 87, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, in the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.
She was born May 22, 1925, in Madison County to Thomas L. and Sallie Combs Baxter, both of whom preceded her in death. She had been employed with the former Richmond City School system and was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Richmond. She was the widow of Robert C. “Bobby” Jennings, who preceded her in death in 2008. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Baxter Jennings and a brother, Tom Baxter. Mrs. Jennings was devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and enjoyed her fellowship with family and friends.
Survivors include one son, Bill Jennings (Jackie) and one daughter, Sally Cotton (Gordon), both of Richmond; grandchildren, Amy Simcik (John), of N.C., Mary Beth Jackson (Kent Clark) of Richmond, Sarah Nally (Brad) of Lexington, Robert Jennings, of Lexington and Nathan Jennings of Fort Drum, Ny.; seven great grandchildren, Logan, Emily, Lauren, Sawyer, Caison, Peyton and Reid.
Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Oldham Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Birkett officiating. Burial will follow at the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.

Cleo Fritz Durbin
Cleo Fritz Durbin, 86, of Richmond, the widow of Shirley Wallace Durbin, passed away Tuesday morning, December 11, 2012 at Baptist Health in Richmond. Mrs. Durbin was born on February 9, 1926, in Estill County, the daughter of the late James E. and Katie Thomas Fritz.
She was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church and was a retired employee of the former A&P Grocery of Richmond. She had been a member of the Estill County Historical Society.
Survivors include one son: David Durbin; two daughters: Kathy Maupin (John) and Patty Gonzalez (Manuel); two brothers: Leon Fritz and Doyle Fritz (Betty); two grandchildren: Kim Maupin and Jennifer Maupin; one great-grandchild: John Hayden Maupin; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband: she was preceded in death by a son: James Wallace Durbin and one brother: Delbert Fritz.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 14, 2012 at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Fort and Billy Ray Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives from 4:30 -8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
