Official Rules and Requirements

Kickoff begins October 27th at noon and The Challenge will last 8 weeks ending December 22nd.
Registration will taken up to and day of Kickoff. Kickoff event will be held at Fitness, Friends and Fun.

Weekly weigh in will be held each Saturday from 10am – 12pm at Fitness, Friends and Fun in Berea.


To increase the level of physical activity and to promote health lifestyles of Madison County residents.

(1) Grand Prize of 50% of entrance fees total awarded to the person which culminates with the highest percentage of weight loss.
(2) First Place Prizes of 10% of entrance fees total awarded each to the male and female who ends the challenge with the highest percentage of weight loss.
Additional prizes, consisting of but not limited to: gift cards from local retailers, free merchandise, or other incentives, may be awarded weekly to the members of the team with the highest percentage weight loss that specific week.

Eligibility Requirements
1. You must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
2. Your current residential address must be within Madison County, Kentucky.
3. You must sign and submit the Liability waiver and medical release provided in the registration packet. This waiver will remove any liability from any fitness facility and participating sponsors, agents, representatives and employees.
4. Entrance fee of $25.00 per person (check or cash only) must be paid in full on or before October 27, 2012. 70% of entrance fee will contribute to the total prize money that will be awarded.
5. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges. Sponsors reserve the right to disqualify persons found tampering with or otherwise abusing any aspect of this Challenge as solely determined by Sponsors.
6. 50% of the fee will be used toward Grand Prize. 20% of the fee will be used toward individual winner’s prize money with 10% going to the top male loser and 10% going to the top female loser. 20% of each fee will be used to pay for access to nutritional/exercise website for Biggest Loser Members. In the site, users will have access to a prescribed diet program and exercise plans.

7. 10% of each fee will be used to cover administrative costs incurred, such as copies, paper, etc.

8. By entering the Challenge, entrant agrees that (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with the Challenge, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually without resort to any form of class action, and entrant waives his or her right to a jury trial for such disputes, claims, and causes of action; (2) any claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the Challenge, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (3) under no circumstances will any entrant be permitted to obtain any award for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental or consequential damages and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased and any other damages, other than damages for actual out-of-pocket expenses.
Rules for Participation
1. All contestants will have a pre-contest photo taken and have both total weight and body fat percentage measured at time of registration by authorized personnel only.
2. Each participant is required to attend at least one nutritional class TBA at Kickoff.
3. Each person will participate on a team of two (2) contestants for the duration of the challenge. If you are not already associated with a team of two (2), you will be assigned to a team. Teamwork encourages accountability and commitment.
4. Each team of two (2) contestants will need a name and team captain. Please use creativity and discretion when considering your team’s name.
5. Teams will consist of two (2) individual members (same gender or co-ed) that will combine their total weight at the commencement of the challenge. Weekly weight loss will also be a collective effort resulting in the team’s total weight loss percentage.
6. Fitness class participation is encouraged during this season. This provides structured fitness activities in a community environment which promotes involvement and accountability. Participants should participate on at least 2 group fitness classes each week. Group fitness classes are held Mon.- Saturday. at Fitness, Friends and Fun. The classes are fee based starting at $3.00 per class. Price is reduced from $5 per class for Biggest Loser Participants.(see FITNESS CLASSES for pricing details).
7. Challenges will be held periodically throughout the season as well. You may be competing for PRIZES and other awards. Teams must participate in at least one CHALLENGE.
8. Weigh-ins are required weekly and to be administered by authorized personnel only. Individual weight will not be announced, only the net weight loss/gain in whole pounds may be displayed until the entire team weigh in is completed. Then the team’s combined net weight loss and percentage will be posted onsite and on the internet.
9. Weigh-ins should be conducted in similar attire each time to ensure accuracy.
10. A participant will become ineligible if 2 weigh-ins are missed.
11. In the final 2 weeks there will be a cap on how much weight you can drop in a given week period to prevent usage of large dehydration techniques for the sole purpose of winning.
12. Team with the highest percentage of weight loss from their original combined weigh-in after 8 weeks will win 70% of total prize money collected to be split among all team members equally.
13. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female who lose the highest percentage of weight, each being awarded 10% of total prize money.
14. Additional prizes may be awarded weekly to the members of the team with the highest percentage weight loss that specific week pending sponsorship participation

Are not responsible for any injury, illness or mental distraught that may arise from participation in the contest. b. Reserve the right to make rule/contest changes without notice at any time and reserve the right to change the aforementioned contest dates without notice.
16. All participants will allow their name and picture/video to be used in promotional announcements, print, and internet based advertising for the sole use to promote Berea’s Biggest Loser for 2010 calendar year.
17. Check Point (4 week) official team weights and percentage losses may appear in local media.
