Some Shooting Ranges Are Closed in KY

KY Fish & Wildlife

The shooting ranges on WMAs are not closed statewide, though some are closed this weekend because of deer quota hunts. In Madison Co., Miller Welch-Central Kentucky WMAs self-serve trap range (across Muddy Creek Road from the WMA office & clubhouses) has been closed until further notice, but the tubed rifle/pistol range there is open under regular hours unless it has been temporarily closed by the manager for maintenance or special events. In addition, the trap and skeet clubs there meet weekly and the public may shoot with them for nominal fees. Before making a trip over to a range you may wish to contact the particular WMA office or its bulletin board/kiosk, or consult our online calendar of events to ensure they are not closed on a particular day. Except for quota hunts, WMA ranges are usually open except when the ranges are scheduled for maintenance or there are special events scheduled.
