A public meeting will be held to discuss economic development strategies for the city. Michael Shuman of Cutting Edge Capital will be facilitating group discussions and helping conduct a SWOT(Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) Analysis of Bereas economy. This will be the first of three public meetings aimed at developing strategies and action plans for the future of Berea.
The meeting will be held October 20th from 6:00pm-9:00pm in the Community Room of the Berea Baptist Church(310 Chestnut St.) Please plan to attend and bring your suggestions for building a better economy in Berea.
Michael is an economist, attorney, author, and entrepreneur. His books, The Small Mart Revolution: How Local Businesses Are Beating the Global Competition and Going Local: Creating Self-Reliant Communities in the Global Age, are considered essential reading for social entrepreneurs. Michael has worked with communities throughout the world to create more sustainable local economies. Most recently, he led the Community Food Enterprise project which was jointly funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
