The 19th Annual Berea Chamber of Commerce Golf Scramble was held Friday, June the tenth at the beautiful historic Berea Country Club. There were twenty three teams competing for the grand prize of five hundred dollars. The tournament began with Shot Gun at 9am and the final eight teams at 2pm.
It was a hot but gorgeous day for the tournament, but with a combination of cold water and lots of sunscreen, everyone involved stayed hydrated and protected from the rays.
As the day drew to an end, the winds began to intensify, the clouds rolled in and all of us were expecting the worst, due to reports that it was hailing only a mile away. But, the storm held off, rendering only a mild shower and a slight, but much welcomed cool breeze at close of the Awards Presentation.
Peoples Bank Team ended their day by receiving $500 for 1st Place, while Peanut Johnson of the P-Cab Team donated his winnings of $300 back to the Berea Country Club. There were door prizes, food and plenty of freebies provided by the numerous community sponsors.
